How the FUCK did Spurs not score? Lucky manc ****s. Joe Hart played a blinder though.

City look dire, and I absolutely love that! Where's Daryl?

As Alan Hansen said, that team can only hope for a Champs League spot in the next few years, there a million miles off winning the league, based on that performance.

To be fair they'll be happy with a draw, you can't expect a team who have players who've never heard of their team-mates instantly gel and play brilliantly, lucky bastards.

liverpool vs arsenal:uhoh:

Beware - these games are never a disappoinment - well certainly not when it was Benitez v Wenger. Seen some right crackers the past decade between these two sides. Whether it's Arshavin slamming 4 past Reina in an incredible 4-4 draw in 2009 or Crouch scoring the perfect hattrick in a thumping 4-1 win!

But for me there is only one real golden moment which I hold dear! November 2004. Neil Mellor - last minute of injury time. THUMPS IT IN from 30 yards!

reina is not gonna want to see that again

happy with the rovers result yesterday. just feel sorry a player with kalinic is stuck with a team who plays football like us. he is forced to feed off scraps up front on his own when with a partner alongside him he'd be fantastic.

you can never read anything into the first game though

everybody knows that

Yes you can't tell anything from the first game, but Liverpool actually looked an outfit today. Surprised.

Apart from Mr Cole getting a card in the same colour as his shirt

He played really well in that pre-season game, thought he'd have a good game.

It was a bad tackle, not sure it was red but from different angles it could easily be seen that way. It's odd as it's his first real game for Liverpool and he's not known for being a rough player whatsoever.

The Arsenal/Liverpool game was past paced and good but the cards given were bad calls!! a yellow would've been sufficient.

The game was amazing!:wacky:

ahh, I wish I saw those games!!:dead:

Arshavin:heart:

That goal was fantastic!!:stunned:

I believe the general consensus was that the tackle was reckless rather than malicious. However, bearing in mind how completely "unnecessary" the challenge was given where it happened (i.e. nothing could really be gained from it), I reckon Cole deserved to be red-carded for blatant stupidity if nothing else.:dozey:

It was a pity, as Liverpool had definitely been the better team up to that point.;)

We tested our selfs in defence quite well.

It will come good in a few weeks, I am quite confident around the start of september. We can use the Europa games to expirment with the many different combitions of mega world class players we have.

Drawing away to spurs was not a bad result, there wont be many teams that will get anything from that ground.

We are quite confident we will destroy the Scousers based on their preferomance yesterday.

I know you all want my team to fail. Keep hoping as they wont we can only strive on this one.

HT Man Utd 2-0 Newcastle

Cruise control for the reds.

I see that thug Barton's still playing for the Toon. Hasn't he been arrested for anything recently?:dozey:

He should be arrested for sporting that stupid tash!

Could've been 6!

I still think we can take some positives from the game though, essentially Newcastle were never going to really challenge them.

The first half an hour was fine, passing, movement, where we started going to hell was the individual mistakes, started gifting dangerous Man United players some chances and luckily kept getting away with it (Possibly a handful of times, even before the first goal, a bad touch or pass could've easily let a red in) and then the luck ran out, Enrique touching the ball into the path of Berbatov who had a relatively easy finish. From there, those mistakes just kept happening, and they got absolutely suppressed.

They really did look like a Championship team with some truely awful errors, and ball-watching. If they can fix that, they've got a good Premiership team, top half of the league. Players like Williamson and Enrique showed constant determination, but the amateur mistakes just cancels it all out.

The way they never dropped their heads, somehow held on nearly until the end to avoid a 3rd, and still didn't collapse, some credit is due, it was always going to be tough.

Villa next, and who knows, if they have a bad day anythings possible. The season doesn't start for any realistic Newcastle fan until Wigan.
