Coldplay live At Paradiso videos Up On Youtube (Chris voice seems a bit shakey still)

Featured Replies

I thought Chris sounded really good on Lovers in Japan, minus that one really awful crack in his voice. But that's the most endearing part about Coldplay live, right? I've always thought so anyway...

Chris does play it himself for the first four bars or so, then he just loops what he played and it goes on. I don't see what the problem is, its just the same riff over and over again for most of the song.

Some videos I uploaded... just the new ones.

Quality-wise it's a bit better imo.

Haven't ripped 'Clocks' and 'Fix You' yet, but I think I'll be able to do that tomorrow...

Exactly. Nothing to worry about imo. You see artists do it all the time even some stand up comedians are doing it. At least he sings live, right? :)

chinese sleep chant is awesome live!! lovers in japan was very good but I think chris should play it :\ viva la vida was much better than the mtv performance and yes quit playing fix you!

lovers was the worst out of all of these. quit with the bakcing keys and play it yourself! and why do they keep playing fix you?! i want amsterdam closing these things out!

exactly! Why make it totally obvious he's not playing the piano riff?!?! :shocked2: I wish chris would go back to just playing the piano and guitar without running around pretending he's Bono  I'm gonna get some stick for saying that, aren't i :laugh3:

I love chris don't get me wrong but he should stop doing it especially if it means using shitty backing tracks!

Chris needs to chill out aswell, that guy saying 29 was only messing around! chris must be stressed

Guys... he IS playing the piano riff. Have you never heard of looping? You play through the entire riff, and since it is repeating, it just loops, so technically he is making the music. Other bands to use this to great effect are the Who (baba o'reilly), Pink Floyd, and Boston. They are working things out. I would wait for the real tour to complain :)

i actually didn't know what looping is. thanks for telling me. SORRY FOR RIPPING ON YOU CHRIS!

still they should stop closing these shows with fix you and start closing them with amsterdam!

Or see you soon....

I agree that the Fix You show end's time has come and gone, and I'd love to see them end with Amsterdam...or Cemeteries!! BUt then, if they just want to play Cemeteries 16 times in a row, that would be fine with me,lol.:D

Ha you are welcome, it is really cool. Look up some good keyboardists that do that, it can be done with any instrument. Very cool idea actually and tough to pull off well. Ha I love fix you though. I know everyone doesn't but X&Y really has a special place in my heart. Cant wait to hear Cemeteries of London as well!

I still love Fix You too. I just think it's time for a change-up in the set list. Most of us have seen that ending, even if we've not gone to shows. Still a wonderful song though, and I hope they don't cut it from the setlist because it's so moving live!:)

I use a loop pedal when i play gigs and stuff so know what you mean and it is possible he's looping it, but why does the keyboard sound completely cut out when the song changes with the guitar riff (4:39)? He's playing the keyboard but no sound is coming out of it? Plus if he has looped the piano riff when it kicks back in at the end chris is walking away towards to TV he would have been no where near the pedal to start the loop off again. Unless someone else is controling it. Oh I don't know haha I'm just not convinced he's playing that keyboard live. I understand where your coming from tho, and I'm hoping your right, coz the thought of them using backing tracks makes me cringe!!!

Well if you watch CSC his vocals are playing and he's singing over them! He misses a "satisfied"

I hope all this this is just to iron out the kinks and/or because he's having issues with his voice.

I don't want to bitch on them before the tour begins, but those shitty videos on that stupid TV seem to suggest that this looping is going to be a regular thing. I just want to see them playing their songs, not to see him run around and dance like a fool.

His voice isn't great (yet), but I loved the performance of Viva la Vida.

A serious improvement from the MTV performance.

I don't think they know how to play the new stuff live yet  I'm not convinced that Chris and Jonny are even playing the keyboard 'strings' on Viva La Vida to be honest. There's a moment on that video where Chris goes back to play the keyboard and he completely misses the keys but the string sample is playing perfectly and in time. I think they might be using backing tracks heavily on the new stuff. They should spend abit more money they are a big enough band now and tour with a string section or something and not try and do too many things at once. No wonder Chris's voice is shakey if he's stressing about re-creating the sound of a full string section on just two keyboards! :laugh3:

I never thought Clocks could be funny, but then Chris started trying to mime out parts of the lyrics...:laugh3:

When Chris asked all 3 of them to play their instruments before VLV you can hear theres some kind of little string sound on johnnys keyboard. And Wills bell sounds cool. But by the sound of guys bass it sounds like he plays the part where after Cris sings "Sweep the streets I use to roam."Interesting.

thanks for the videos, guys!

i was particularly interested in seeing that GUY'S the one that did those low backing vocals on chinese sleep chant, not jonny! i never could really "find" guy's voice before enough to know what it sounded like, but i've got it now!

i also think its pretty cool that the piano's main keys are black, but the other ones, the sharp and flat notes (i forget what they're called :\) are white. never really seen one like that before!

and yes quit playing fix you!

I honestly disagree.

Fix You is arguably the best song on X&Y.

Woah, thanks for this. Chris's voice was just shot. He'll get better at it though. I mean, it was a while sense concerts and all that jazz. Yay! harpsichord.

thanks a lot, this is the best Violet Hill performance till now. I hope on tour they play clocks like in the past tour cause it was amazing, and in this gig they played like the album version and I hope they close with fix you as well.
