maybe they have made 2 videos and will release one for viva la vida soon an then when they release the other single down the road they will already have the video made.

Coldplay are set to work with film director Anton Corbijn, who won a Shockwaves NME Award earlier this year for directing 'Control', the biopic about Joy Division singer Ian Curtis.

 

The band's spokesperson told NME.COM the director and the band will conduct the shoot for forthcoming single 'Viva La Vida', a song from the band's forthcoming album 'Viva La Vida Or Death And All His Friends', on a Dutch beach.

 

Corbijn previously directed the video promo for the band's 2005 single 'Talk', which you can see by clicking on the videolink below.

 

Speaking about the collaboration Chris Martin said, "We're trying an experiment with him. It could be a disaster, but it could be OK."

So is Viva la vida going to be the 2nd official single? That's excellent news! That song is epic and deserve to be a regular single not a download-only single and to have its own video... altohugh too bad for Lovers In Japan but I hope that's a single too with video and all (maybe the 3rd one, or only in some countries I don't konw)... hopefully that's the other video... anyway I think both songs would become classics.

I think it was shot in Scheveningen, cause Coldplay was spotted there a few times. But is the shooting of that video not already finished by now? :)

hmm, while i'm completely itching for a VLV video, i'm a bit surprised to be ever so slightly disappointed. i was really hoping for strawberry swing :P

but... :thinking: if viva la vida is the forthcoming single and they're set to shoot the video, why have they already shot a video in London (apparently for lovers in japan) ??? I bet they're going to release a double single or different singles in different contries...

i'm not sure viva la vida was expected to be a single. they were just amazed by the response to the song on itunes

„Ik reed langs het station en zag een man op een bankje zitten, gekleed in een koningspak en met een hoed op,’’ zegt de 20-jarige thuiszorgmedewerker. „Ik dacht dat het een straatartiest was, reed voorbij en keek nog een keer om totdat ik hem herkende. Ik vroeg ‘ben jij Chris Martin?’ en hij zei ‘ja’. Hij was heel vriendelijk, we hebben tien minuten met elkaar gesproken.’’

 

Chris Martin was op het plein voor het station neergestreken voor opnamen voor de videoclip van de nieuwe Coldplay-single. Deze staat op de nieuwe cd van de band die op 16 juni verschijnt. Moens: „Ik heb niet eens gevraagd waarom hij Den Haag had uitgekozen voor de video. Hij had een schilderij in handen met daarop de hoesafbeelding van de nieuwe cd. We hebben over muziek gesproken. Hij zag dat ik een polsbandje van Pinkpop droeg en vroeg mij hoe ik het had gevonden.’’

 

Het bezoek van Chris Martin aan Den Haag was onaangekondigd. Bij de ontmoeting zal het voorlopig blijven, want omdat Moens afgelopen weekeinde een uitstapje met zijn volleybalteam in de Ardennen had, kon hij geen concertkaartjes kopen voor zijn idolen. Begin oktober geeft Coldplay drie (uitverkochte) concerten in Ahoy. De foto dient als bewijs dat hij Chris Martin écht heeft ontmoet.

Lovers will be 3rd I'm betting. They'd have filmed the video early so they dont have to squeeze in time whilst touring etc... It's not uncommon.

 

I'm scared too, I've seen a lot of Antons work and I dont like any of it, I think he's a bad director. But let's wait and see...
