Wash them allready, they smell of sweat and guy's smoke :P

:laugh3: especially how much Chris sweats...it was just as well his shirts from the X&Y tours had holes in the pits! :sweatdrop:

Personally I like the clothes, and one of the reasons I prefer Coldplay over bands like Oasis is that they put some thought in to the extras, like costume. Oasis look like every other band out there, Coldplay stand out from the crowd

(And I'm sure they have dozens of changes of clothing)

I admit that I had become accustomed to their tees and jeans, but their new attire does not bother me. I've seen them in interviews speak about how their album is an expression of color (not an exact quote in any means). Clothes and music are different ways of expression. I say more power to them for expressing themselves (even if it's stinky, sweaty band-uniform-inspired). I love them anyway.

I... don't really give a shit either way. If that's what they want to wear that's their own damn business. If The Beatles want to wear burkas or suits on stage or if Radiohead want to use insanely expensive tubes of LED lights at their shows to up the price of their tickets, I really, truly could not careless. As long as the music is good. And this album is good. If they had to dress like hipster French revolutionaries to get that way, so be it.

Many bands shirk the fashion that often follows with music and they think that it gives them some sort of bullshit 'edge' over other bands. It's just another form of pretension. But Coldplay are sure as hell not being fashionable. They don't give a shit.

And, fyi, the confetti was a part of the award show 'bigness'. Besides, how is it any different from their yellow balloons or The Flaming Lips having people dressed as aliens and shooting confetti and balloons into the audience? Makes for a great show.

All I can say is, is that if I'm going to be paying 60+ dollars for a concert, I better damn well be seeing some massive lights and coming home with a handful of rubber from a busted balloon. Colorful jackets don't really faze me.

...</rant>

I could care less what they wear, it's their choice not any of yours :-D

I only care about their shoes. :D

Well said, frostbitepanda (and another great username!)

They could be wearing panda suits and I wouldn't care - cranking out music as good as this, as they have been for so many years, is such a blessing.

well come on. when you're in a band, you have to be cohesive, and if you're going to have a "look" going with your new album, you have to keep that up. I'm sorry to say, but those jackets are going to be around for a while.. Until next album of course.

I, personally, think they're awesome, and much cooler than their boring all black and white adidas look from the last album..

Way to find color, Coldplay.

I LOVE them.

Oh and, they still play the music. I guess the point is, that if like you said, it's really only about the music, then why are you complaining about the clothes they wear? Just switch off from that and listen to the music. If it 'shouldn't matter' then it DOESN'T matter. And I agree with you that it shouldn't matter. But I do LOVE the outfits.

I guess I kind of agree with both sides of the argument. I would prefer they wear normal clothes, and I never minded the all black, because they still looked pretty normal. But in my opinion the costumes do look a little corny and over the top. Like everyone else mentioned if it was just for videos I would be more than cool with it, but we all know thats not going to be the case.

On the other side, they write some of the best music I've ever heard, and if looking at corny eccentric costumes is the price I have to pay to get it, than thats OK by me. Am I unfairly cutting them slack I wouldn't cut a normal 1/2 ass band....yep. Thats how good they are. This does give me pause about their future, I'll be honest. Costumes seem like the beginning of the end of their sanity (lets hope not) but I'm not going to worry about that right now, because what I've heard of the music sounds good, and thats good enough, I'm not going to borrow trouble. They seem pretty down to earth in all their interviews still. Lets hope it stays that way.

Lol, Jen...dresses?? Well you can't say the guys are boring! THey do 'fit' with the album, and yes the music is what really matters. But when I think Band Uniforms, I think Dexy's Midnight Runners...and that's just so VERY wrong!:laugh3:

Come On Will-eeeeeeeeeeeeee??

Lol. I actually added Kevin Rowland, their singer, as a friend on my mysjpace page. They're still doing music and touring!

I do think if the guys wear the same outfits in all the videos, that will be really tacky. Yeah, the music comes first, but it does seem like there may be a beginning to that slow rockstar slide into madness that so many experience.

Are you sure it isn't an impersonator??

Nah, his music's way to odd to be an imitator.

I meant a MySpace imposter.

Nope. the link came from their official website. Besides, if you were a pervert looking to meet people on myspace, is the lead singer from Dexy's Midnight Runners really the first person you'd think to imitate??

Some people just do it for kicks. There's probably a fake Chris Martin one out there somewhere.;)
