June 24, 200818 yr I cannot for the life of me figure out why I'm not seeing Death and all its friends/ escapist on the setlists for the first few shows. You simply cannot have a song so epic and beautiful (not to mention completely ball-shattering the way Johnny, Will, and Guy play) and not melt faces with it live! I'm absolutely befuddled and very afraid that I'm not going to hear my favorite song off the new album in San Jose on 7/18!
June 24, 200818 yr This is something that's worrying me as well. I really hope they play it when the actual tour starts...
June 24, 200818 yr This might be because this song has more into it, I mean, for me, this is song is pure Coldplay material, outside of every song of the album.
June 24, 200818 yr You're going to the san jose show? Same here! Sweet strawberry swings batman! Yeah hope they play it once the tour gets underway
June 24, 200818 yr Trust me theyll play it during the real tour. These shows are more for fun and preparation, so theyre playing different songs that they might not be able to play during the real tour. Once it begins theyll be playing more songs and better songs. Trust me, theyll play DAAHF live, it would be a greater end song than Fix You.
June 24, 200818 yr I really hope they do! I am also expecting them to play YES...I agree on DAAHF being a great closer, but so far I am liking their closing with Lovers in Japan... cheers
June 24, 200818 yr dude im serious. That's top 5 fav CP songs ever for me. Dude Im serious too. That may be my 3rd favorite Coldplay song and clearly my fav on Viva. They have to play it in CT August 2nd.
June 24, 200818 yr The only reason I can think of is that the 7/4 time signature at the end is a little tricky, but I'd hate to think that that's actually why they won't play it live. The male choir part at the end sounds like it was made to be a crowd singalong. They really should bust it out on stage. Not that I'm going to any shows, but it just needs to happen.
June 24, 200818 yr yeah, and they havn't been playing 'Yes' and 'Strawberry Swing' either, they played strawberry swing at brixton
June 25, 200818 yr The only reason I can think of is that the 7/4 time signature at the end is a little tricky, but I'd hate to think that that's actually why they won't play it live. The male choir part at the end sounds like it was made to be a crowd singalong. They really should bust it out on stage. Not that I'm going to any shows, but it just needs to happen. Is it really 7/4 time? God thats weird! Anyway I dont care if thats a hard time sig to song and play in, they're professionals, they should be able to handle it.
June 25, 200818 yr i think they just hadn't perfected this song yet so they couldn't play it at the free shows. they did say they are having production delays so im guessing this song is one of them. im almost certain they will play it on the regular tour.
June 25, 200817 yr Author If these guys can play it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A4G36PZKKuU(a pretty respectable job in my opinion), then Coldplay can. I agree with the Count. They're probably holding out because they don't want cp hard-ons like us to see clips of it. They want to completely blow us away when we hear it live for the first time!
June 25, 200817 yr Agreed. Coldplay can do it. We'll just have to shout and shout until they come out for an encore. We'll keep bringing them out until they run out of songs and have to play DAAHF.:D
July 3, 200817 yr Trust me theyll play it during the real tour. These shows are more for fun and preparation, so theyre playing different songs that they might not be able to play during the real tour. Once it begins theyll be playing more songs and better songs. Trust me, theyll play DAAHF live, it would be a greater end song than Fix You. Sure hope so, I'm so wanting to hear this live!
July 3, 200817 yr Time signature troubles? Maybe that's also the reason they're not playing Yes? ...although they have played it once or twice already, so I doubt THAT's why.
July 3, 200817 yr Maybe they didnt had time to learn this song better.. because they would play the other songs because this one is harder? I mean.. for the first gigs after a while.. And They played Yes live.. for a soundcheck.. but they played it. See: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r3Sxpbpcoow
July 3, 200817 yr Time signature troubles? Maybe that's also the reason they're not playing Yes? ...although they have played it once or twice already, so I doubt THAT's why. No because Yes is in 4|4
