June 30, 200817 yr I downloaded this quite awhile before it came out (the piano version)...I LOVED IT, but now I have listened to the whole album it is one of my least favourites!, I still like it, but it doesn't live up to the standards of songs like Viva La Vida and Strawberry Swing! I think I was 'ruined' by the beautiful acoustic version too, but I've slowly come round to the album version. When I'm in a very bright mood I love it, and it's great for dancing - really great - but most other times I'd prefer to hear Lost? I think I'm going to make a CD with the acoustic version for that one track on instead (with LiJ Acoustic as the 'kimchi only' bonus track :)) The other thing I'd like to do, but don't have the technical skill, is to merge the two versions, with Lost? as a base which slowly adds in elements from Lost! I'd also really love to hear a Gospel version of Lost?
July 1, 200817 yr I have to admit, I was not a fan of the song when hearing it on the album but after seeing it live, it has to be the best song in the album (imo)
July 2, 200817 yr I think I like the acoustic version of this song better after giving it more listens. The album version is probably one of my least favs on the album, but its still a good song.
July 3, 200817 yr I think, as with wisdom, music appreciation has a direct link to age. Those who have given it time can attest to that. Yup. Besides, don't matter "who" ya are...Coldplay's good stuff. :smug:
July 3, 200817 yr I much prefer Lost? to Lost! Maybe it's because Lost! sounds too over-produced. In Lost! the drums drown out Chris' voice, yet in Lost? if ever there was a showcase for how beautiful his voice is, this is it. I downloaded Lost? from iTunes because it's not included in their album. It's becoming one of my favourites. Maybe "Lost" is actually an ironic title, as though they didn't know what direction to take, because "Lost?" very much sounds like old Coldplay, and I love every minute of it.
July 4, 200817 yr Im in the Coldplay section too... I dont know why that matters, I just have nothing else to talk about right now:confused:
July 4, 200817 yr woah! rick in the coldplay section! :shocked2: Get used to it as i just bought the new album..:p
July 6, 200817 yr ok, just my own experience. I had a leaked copy of Lost? ( aka the acoustic version ) , played it alot before I got my hands on the rest of the album, and liked it alot. You know how some songs grow on you and you get comfortable with them? Well that's how it was with Lost? I haven't gotten sick of it and like it as well as say Lovers or Cemetaries. I think the pop appeal of the album version, Lost!, explains why it's getting so much play.
July 6, 200817 yr Lost is one of my fav songs of the disc, but I prefer the acoustic version! By the way, my favourite one is Viva La Vida!
July 7, 200817 yr although not the best song on the album its not that bad i find it quite uplifting!!
July 8, 200817 yr Lost! is a great song one of their best and viva is too and violet hill and I love 42 too maybe all the songs in this album!
July 9, 200817 yr yea zsub is right. it appeals to non REAL coldplay fans who just listen to mainstream music. it has a catchy beat and its not too complicated. idk how to explain it but it doesnt surpise me at ALL that its popular. although it is also one of my least favorites on the new album. That's how I explain its popularity. Although I have to disagree on that last bit; it's actually one of my favorites on the album. Along with its appeal to those who listen to mainstream music it also appeals to Coldplay's more devoted fans, which explains why they tend to play it live more. I wouldn't be surprised (or disappointed) if it became their next single.
July 12, 200817 yr I think lyrically, Lost! is pants... bordering on cringeworthy. I love the instrumentation though, and Jonny's solo. It is one of the weaker tracks on the album and I often find myself skipping it.
July 17, 200817 yr its a catchy song plus the lyrics are nice, ive caught myself singing the chorus over and over again throughout the day -_-
