When I was living in Japan, my Japanese friend (one of the coolest girls in Japan btw - and that's saying something!) asked me if I liked Coldplay, and was amazed when I said I'd never heard of them (I was living life inside a bubble over there lol). I didn't hear them till my girlfriend visited from Tokyo and brought their first two cds - it was love at first listen :)

I put an incredible effort in attempting to get to the Brixton and BBC gigs. It was ridiculous, actually, but so worth it in the end (and thank goodness I got to at least one!!) I'll never try so hard for any gigs again for the rest of my life.

1. First related Coldplay memory?

**I remember liking Yellow in 2000 when it charted in the US but not being really aware of the band. Unfortunately it was that incident in 2003 that Chris had with the Aussie photog that got the band name stuck in my head. Funny thing is it was that summer too that a friend got me to listen to parachutes and then I was hooked.

** Being sick as a dog with a fever (and as of that moment undiagnosed Lyme's Disease) and still making plans to go to the Today show gig because Ian so graciously picked my entry as one of the winners. I'm glad now I gave up the passes and someone else got to go. I'd have never lasted out there that long in the heat and humidity...I'd have embarassed myself and probably passed out cold on the pavement.

1. Met Chris at a mall. We chatted, and he said he was with a band called Coldplay. & I thought to myself, "he's a very nice fellow, & I like his support of Fair Trade, sustainable forests, and the other causes he had interests in as well.. He must be in some type of acoustical or folk band, which seems like a natural fit for someone on those wavelengths."

2. I have never seen the band in concert live, but maybe someday I will!

3. a. They all appeal to me - I cannot select a favorite album
