  • I can't give you the reasonings on why things changed, but I can give you an update from what I observed. The Oracle was run by Debs Wild. Debs is still with the band and helps out fans, for exam

I don't get why Guy doesn't like the song .

It's probably one of my favourites. I'm glad I got to hear it live :D

Q. Following the question about does the band look at the Exhibition Room, does the band look at the Oracle questions and answers? Thanks. :)

The Oracle replies:

Er, no. That may explain why there's some animosity between myself and the Curator...

chick fight! :P
Guy GUY GUY. Why doesn't he like it?Maybe if the others agreed to play Crests of Waves (which he really likes), he would play again. At least they convinced him this time.

That's never gonna happen, they didn't put it in A rush of Blood, let alone playing it live, especially after Chris told me they tried it but it sounded shit, uhm yes of course* :dozey:

*they never tried it, btw

I've never had Guinness. It just looks too... thick or something.

You don't know what you're missing!! It's just sooo gooood :awesome: (and this a non-beer/alcohol fan who says this)

As for the comment about Guinness I completely agree with the Oracle, once you drink it in Ireland it's never gonna be the same again :D

*high five* We're always on the same page Denise

Q. Any news on Matt McGinn's Roadie book?

The Oracle replies:

Funny you should mention that because Matt sent me a photo yesterday of him with his very own copy of said book! The book is set to hit the shops on May 17th weather permitting.

That's weird  I've pre-ordered it on Amazon and my order says it will be dispatch on May 5th (since the book is schedule to be out on may 4th)....

:D I would LOVE to hear Crest of waves live since it's also one of my favorite.....

And +10000000000000000000000 for Amsterdam!!! PLAY IT damn it!! :bomb:

I've pre-ordered it on Amazon too. I have to be fun to read:cool:

Q. Dear Oracle:

I love the idea of the staff wearing the Mariachi customs in the Monterrey concert. Did they use customs from all the countries were Coldplay played? Or was the fact that the Mariachi custom is so cool? At least I think so...jaja.

I send a lots of hugs to all the people that make possible the best gig I've ever been!!! That includes you, dear Oracle :)

The Oracle replies:

Costumes were only worn on the last night. As that last night happened to take place in Mexico and the Mariachi costumes are so cool - as are the musicians - it was an idea hatched out of a night of Tequila drinking. You can see in Roadie #42's blog that Neil wore his on the flight home to London too. He looked great when we were checking in at Mexico City airport but it has to be said it seemed a little ridiculous when collecting his bags at the carousel at Heathrow!

We were all hoping customs would stop him and ask where he was flying in from!

Q. Hey dear Oracle!

Would you let us know which rude word did Chris say in Guadalajara??? Love ya!

The Oracle replies:

I absolutely KNEW someone would ask this. Naughty bunch aren't you? I will tell you what the word was as long as you don't expect me to explain what it means. Deal?

Ok, he said cabrones! Good job his Dad doesn't understand Spanish swear words!

Q. Dear Oracle

I love Coldplay but every time I listen to Coldplay I think about my ex. We were all about Coldplay 24/7 and we were together for three years or so. And I feel even worse when I hear Green Eyes or Sparks because he was my sparks and I was his green eyes. He once told me after we broke up you ruined Coldplay for me, now I know what he meant =-(.What I'm trying to ask is: can I find a way to disassociate Coldplay from my ex?

The Oracle replies:

Awww Crystal, many of us have been in a similar situation where songs and artists remind us of past loves but don't worry, it does get easier. I had a similar experience with Yellow but now it just makes me happy.

You didn't ruin Coldplay for him it will just take time. It's not simple but you need to try and make new associations. Although the answer to your question is "yes", it's up to you to make those new memories and eventually they will soon overshadow the old ones. One day in the future you will hear Green Eyes and Sparks and it will make you smile. Hang in there!

the Oracle is now "Dear Abby",hehhe she loves those relationship questions! I want to know if they will bring back Warning Sign next tour from that little tease we got in Guadalajara

I am starting to hate The Oracle. Hundreds of questions asked, only one answered

Really? Gosh, then I might have to give it a try. I'm not much of a drinker either (usually once a year, and that's on New Year's Eve, assuming I don't fall asleep first ).

Considering the number of people here that agree, I'm wondering if we should start an Amsterdam petition now, well before they tour again...

Okay, I need to fulfill my self-imposed quota of learning something new for the day... could somebody enlighten me and explain what "cabrones" means?

assholes

Okay, I need to fulfill my self-imposed quota of learning something new for the day... could somebody enlighten me and explain what "cabrones" means?

it has several meanings here in Mexico depending on how you use it

could mean that something is really hard to do, that a situation is delicate, that you are the best doing something, that you are mean, that you are good at something, clever, skillfull, that you are a motherf**ker, "dude", "friend", and i could keep on going like forever haha

haha that is true. its just funny seeing you list all the things it could mean :P^

oh and definitely joinign the Amsterdam petition, lets do it!

we should do it soon so chris can have time to relearn his own song :P

Hmmm... maybe I should start a thread? Or maybe a social group? Which would be better? I think maybe a social group.

I'm trying to learn it now anyway, so maybe I could just hop across the big pond and go teach him.

Really? Gosh, then I might have to give it a try. I'm not much of a drinker either (usually once a year, and that's on New Year's Eve, assuming I don't fall asleep first ).

Guinness isn't 'strong' like wine could be. One pint of Guinness, I'm still feeling good. A glass of white wine = I feel sleepy and my head is spinning :laugh3:

This is a really good beer just as the canadian beer 'la Blanche de Chambly' :awesome:

Considering the number of people here that agree, I'm wondering if we should start an Amsterdam petition now, well before they tour again...

 maybe! And we could add 'warning sign' on this...!

It's not that rude.

Depends how you use it and the way Chris did wasn't offensive or rude at all :P.

Fresh in, get 'em while they're hot :P

Q. Dear Oracle,

I was wondering the other day: was Ode to Deodorant ever burnt on a cd and given away or something? I know they made a cassette and sent it to a radio station for a competition, but a cassette seems very 'old school', even for those days.

( + saw one pass on ebay several months ago and I was wondering if it was a genuine copy).

Thanks in advance !

The Oracle replies:

Well the master copy of the track was certainly burned onto a cd. Cassettes were still circulating in the demo world but they were on their way out. It was more to send to Radio Stations to play although there was an Xfm competition they entered too. (The Safety EP -on cd- had been sent to Steve Lamacq at Radio 1 earlier than this though).

If the copy you saw was the same one that I also saw it was indeed an original.

Q. Dear Oracle,

I have got a girlfriend since two months. She is really sweet and all but we have only hold hands. All my friends say that I must kiss her as soon as possible (and as long as possible). But my problem is that I am rather afraid of doing that. Is that weird? Do you have any tips for me?

The Oracle replies:

No it's not weird but you should only kiss someone when it feels right for you both and the right time will probably become pretty obvious to you when it arrives.

Friends will have their view of you and your situation and maybe they're all doing other stuff but there's no rush you just do what you want and my tip is - don't give into peer pressure.

Q. Hello Oracle!

A very short question!

Do you like the band Mumford & Sons?

:)

Thanks!

The Oracle replies:

Yes we all like Mumford & Sons so check them out if you haven't had the chance to hear them yet. FYI: Will had tickets for their recent London show - the day after landing back from the Latin American tour.
