the reason i ask is because well thats how i judge how good an album is parachutes and AROBTTH give me the chills most of the albums at least while XY only one song does that.

and viva la vida not one song =[ while i love most of the album i dont get that WOOO!! feeling i mean viva la vida the song is amazing and a classic with the churchbells and violin great melody but its not like other great cp songs! i miss the parachutes era mostly and A RUSh of blood too?

WHAT!!

I mean as a fellow coldplay fan i totally respect your opinion but Hello!!! K sorry but it does give me goosebumps and especially when they do the ohhh's... ya know what though, I did see it live and that made me get chills... if you really want chills then you listen to it live.... :stunned: But the first time I ever heard it...I was like HOLY CRAP Coldplay is back. And it remimded me of all the good times I've listening to them...This song forever launched me into obsession overload...

When I first heard VLV (the song) I couldn't stop smiling. It was such a breath of fresh air.

Btw, how did you first hear the album? If you were one of the people who listened to it when it leaked, that might've taken that special edge away from it.

When you hear it fresh from the CD it always gives you more chills - maybe why Parachutes and AROBTTH did, cos I'm not sure whether they leaked (or maybe whether you heard them straight away?)

But yer...whatever floats your boat. The next album/Ep might give you goosebumps again.

yes yes yes.Viva La Vida (the song) gives me goosebumps, especially at the end with the ooooooooo'''...and the chorus. It's amazing live when everyone is singing

I love VLV, the entire album.it's colorful and that gives me goosebumps cause I'm hopeful and happy by the end of the album. It's like this gigantic epic march sometimes (VLV, Cemetries of Lodon, 42, Violet Hill and Lost). That's how I feel

I listened to all the albums (never leaks) and I never really got "chills" from any song. Maybe I just don't react that way but no song really gives me goosebumps. I guess you could say certain songs have blown me away or really lightened up my mood but I don't really get chills.

the first time i heard "viva la vida" the song on that day it randomly showed up on itunes, i was actually shaking. i had heard "violet hill" and "a spell a rebel yell" before and liked them, but wasn't bowled over. "viva la vida" was all i had wanted and more. so yes, goosebumps and beyond for me. also with "lovers in japan (acousitc)," "strawberry swing," and "death and all his friends."

I understand what NeSs1776 said. I feel the same actually. The new album didn't blow me away like Parachutes and AROBTTH did. I would listen to the first two albums thoroughly, but with Viva La Vida I often get tempted to skip some songs. :laugh3: I don't know. That's just the way how I feel.

As for the song, Viva La Vida got me addicted to. :D I really love this song!

damn you know what your right i dont know which live version it was that i saw but it gave me chills when the crowd sang "ohhh ohhh oh" part but most live version of viva la vida suck cuz of chris's voice its not the same as back in 2003! also life in technicolor the last bit its amazing and kinda makes me feel like wooo! but not that much lol i want to hear the song with lyrics!

It was the song actually, admittedly, that made me fall in love with Coldplay. I was at the gym with headphones on and usually listen to my mp3 player but that day, for some reason, I was listening to the TV thing over the headphones. I was working away and sweating my butt off and suddenly this... this... this musical poetry filled my ears, bells and this amazing voice and this "ohhh ohhh ohhh ohhh" and I snapped my head looking up at the TV and there were these people bathed in colors and lights and spirits and it was so beautiful that I nearly stopped exersizing! And YES! YES!!! I had goosebumps all over my arms. As soon as I got home, I looked up this song, this- this Viva La Vida thing! And it said it was from an upcoming album... so I forgot about it for a little while and then not long after was at the gym and heard it again. This time I was in love and completely determined.

I work at a music store, so not long after that we got an advanced copy to listen to in the store and I nearly wore it out. And the day it was officially released, I bought my copy gladly... and to this day, just listening to Viva La Vida gives me chills again and brings back a lot of very, very happy memories of discovering some of the most amazing and inspiring music I've heard in ages!!! :D

i got goosebumbs first time i listened to cemeteries... then again during YOU THOUGHT YOU MIGHT BE A GHOST in 42... then during almost all of LIJ... my first listen to viva la vida was something i cant even describe but there were definately chills... violet hill i got teary eyed (it was the first new song we heard)... end of death and all his friends every hair on my arms stood straight up. and then when the brixton academy gig was broadcast live and i heard the OHHHHHHs from viva la vida live for the first time... i almost went into a seizure from having the chills and my eyes watered extremelyyyy. so yes. this album has definately given me goosebumps.

Definitely, YES! not only Viva La Vida, but the whole VLV album gave me goosebumps! I remember the first time I heard it, I couldn't stop smiling at the beginning of each song!

It was as if they had taken all the different kind of sounds and music I liked out of my head to make the perfect album ... :smug:

That was my first impression, and the more I listen to it the more I like it ;)

I think I've had the chills to some of Coldplay's songs. :nice: But I have definitly been in some sort of euphoric state listening to "Speed of Sound" later on "Clocks" and some others... Viva la Vida gives me a really exiting feeling too.

(I heard the songs in that order because I got X&Y first and the other albums much later :\)

I don't think it's fair to say that you have no soul if the music doesn't give you chills. We are all different humans with different taste who react differently on different things. So goosebumps don't have to be the answer to everything.

If the end of Death and All His Friends didn't give you chills then you have no soul.

not to mention Viva la Vida - especially the wooooooaaah part !!! :D

perfect scenery - I was at the seaside this year in Greece and while travelling from one place to another by ferryboat ... Waves, blue sea to infinity, seagulls, and viva la vida on my mp4... perfect!

I have to be honest and say no, I can’t remember the last time I even listened to the album! I love Coldplay, have all their albums, seen them 5 times, but VIVA as an album is underwhelming in my opinion! I don’t know what it is but it just doesn’t do it for me! I can appreciate the song writing and the musical talent that has went into the album but it’s just missing something!

I LOVE Life In Technicolor, but the album is a disappointment after the start! Still can’t fathom why the full version of the song is not on the album (probably will be in the Prospects Ep)! And I can’t stand them floating about in Psuedo-french-military uniforms either!! Pretentious nonsense!
