The Cutesie names your parents use to call you thread

Featured Replies

I don't have an awful or cute nickname but mom calls me Carlita instead of Carla in front of my friends... I've grown up for god's sake!!!

i think that although those nick names can be a bit embarassing, is cute... i mean that parents call their kids like carla, carlita, hormiguita... although i reckon it can be embarassing, but i feel more embarassing what they can tell to your friends more than how they call you in front of them ;)

mm most my family calls me bea... just my mom called me Betina.

when i was little i don't remember well which nick i had at home... something fruitish or animalish may be.

but i remember my parents talking about me, and refering to me as "the girl" or "your girl", i found that second one a bit bad, as i came to think.... don't i'm the girl/daughter of both them? :inquisitive:

at high school or school i don't remember the nicks i had, but surely at school weren't good ones as kids didn't were good with me at times.. :dozey:

i'll think about it later today :P (here is only 9.20 and i can't think so well yet :laugh3: )

See my mom also calls me 'gorda' but it doesn't mean I'm fat  I didn't mention it before cuz if you translate it to english it'll mean I'm fat :laugh3:, but grandma calls me 'mirringa' I don't know what that means though.

When I was in high school (not that long ago) one of my best friends used to call me 'Tia' = aunt and the other one 'Lila', now that I'm in college I'm just Carla :\, but I gave my best friend a nickname hahaha :laugh3:

emily....i think you're briggs :bigcry:

which made me crack up on the previous page when i thought that briggs's mom used to call him emily shannon....

:laugh3:

I used to call my sister Frangaga (Francesca is a bit hard to pronounce as a chld) and she called me Naynay. My mum still sometimes referrs to my sister as Gags, I call her Chesca

oh i have a LOT!!!

My Dad has his own pet name... he would call me Inday (I don't know what that means but its a funny name). lucky me he hasn't called me by that name in front of my friends.

My Mom still calls me Baby Rei (like a Baby Ruth). I'm 21!!! I'm not a baby anymore! She calls me by another name, IONS (not pronounced as IONS in science but YONS - like YONDER. Its derived from my real name, Katriona) which for me is cheesy. My cousins twisted it more and they call me Ionch (yonch).

My little brother calls me Paa (that's FEET in our language) because I have a big feet!

My taekwondo buddies call me utot [ng Bulacan] (that's FART in our language). The Bulacan Team in TKD is the best team in our country and I was approached by the head instructor to join their team. Unfortunately I wasn't based in the said town so I declined the offer. Hence the nickname.

:\:confused::thinking::(:inquisitive:

my parents seemed to always call me when i was young(er): doll doll, boo boo doll, baby, pumpkin, dolly, sweety etc. i think they had an obsession with the word doll. my grandma use to (and still does) call me the phoenix cos i can somehow rise out of the ashes or anything bad per say. lol those names are so embarrassing to me and they'd say it in front of my friends. :embarassed:

so, if any, what cutesie/embarrassing nick name did your parents give you when you were young? :dozey:

ugh, i know how you feel... my dad calls me :(Bio:(

arghhh

Don't have any.

Well, save for variations of my name (Ninotch etc.)

None from my parents, but my sister Ashley still calls be 'topher and toto.

I used to call my sister Frangaga (Francesca is a bit hard to pronounce as a chld) and she called me Naynay. My mum still sometimes referrs to my sister as Gags, I call her Chesca

I couldn't quite pronounce Ash-ley as a child, so I went around calling her Assy.

Beginning to think it should be spelled "cutesy" not "cutesie" :P
