True that with Guns and Roses, and MBV's comeback would have been better if they released those remasters (but sadly they were delayed until next year :()

I don't count something like Coldplay and the Killers as a comeback...I mean they were never on a hiatus or anything.

 

As for Guns and Roses and AC/DC...just a cash grab for sure.

i don't quite understand what people meen by "comeback". isn't a comeback when a band breaks then re-unites or goes on a long hiatus (no albums or tour for more than 2years).

 

worst comeback would have to be AC/DC. and i thought Oasis made a decent comeback.

I was trying to figure out why people kept saying coldplay was a comeback...

 

umm i cant think right now..

 

but i do know, that coldplay is not a comeback. just like briggs said and umm thinker.

Because it was a comeback after 3 long years since their last album.

 

And 3 years in between albums doesn't make Guy Hands happy, it makes him upset, and when Guy Hands gets upset, he takes his angry out on poor bands whom might not be big sellers and kills them by ripping up their record contract.

Oh sorry, I forgot about Guy Hands.

Surely Portishead were responsible for best comeback of the year.

The Verve was ok too, though their comeback album should've been better. I guess I expected too much of it. Same goes for The Notwist.

 

I agree with Guns N Roses being the worst.

Haven't bothered listening to the Metallica / AC/DC albums, because I don't care much for either of these bands.

Are you kidding? Almost every band needs 2 or 3 years between albums at the very least. It's not like the band ever broke up or disbanded. For a band to "comeback" they need to break up and go away for a long time, or at least not release anything for ten years or so. Coldplay toured well into 2007, so they were only ever off the scene for the 9 or so months they needed to finish VLV.

When Velvet Revolver disbanded... Stone Temple Pilot reunited with Scott and made comeback. Queen made comeback with Paul Rogers... but will never be the same without Freddie.

oh how could i forget Portishead. brilliant comeback. first album in 11years is REAL comeback. and i think its quite obvious that all of us with any degree of understanding of the music scene would agree coldplay did not make a "comeback" this year. nor did radiohead in 2007 as they toured alot in 2006.
