We say "Roma was not built in one day". It will take some time as there's so much to do.

I'll tell you what, I am hesitant to get too excited because I am aware of the magnitude of the problems that Obama is stepping into. However, I will say that he is a prolific speaker...simply amazing!

Wauw, what a speech.

Congrats to all Americans!

Belgium loves Obama :)

it was a great speech!

Wooooohoooo!!!!

An inspiring speech from Barack!

Does anyone miss Balacky? :uhoh:

A new era has begun in America.

Finally, I can honestly say, I am proud of my president.

I got to stay home and watch it all day!!!!!!!! His speech was amazing!!!!! I'm on my iPod still watching downstairs but I'm sooo happy you guys!!! "help is just around the corner for us"!!!!!!!

^ the same (:

I feel so excited to be alive today, to be able to watch this unfold, and have the opportunity to be a part of it.

I was still a kid..12 years old.. just about to become a teenager when Pres. Bush took office. I was jusst becoming aware of politics then. And throughout my entire memory of US government, it became increasingly shameful to be a part of this country. But now, just out of my teens, its all changing again. And I'm so proud :nice:

It all just feels so ...connected. Not just our country coming together, but globally. Its such a nice, warm fuzzy feeling :P

M.

We got to watch it during our mid-term exam in Latin:D

this is the most important day in my country's history in my lifetime, in much longer than that, i daresay. i can't tell you how proud i am to be an american, for one of the first times in my life. i know some people have always been proud, but i haven't been. today that ended, and i hope so many more american follies and problems and mistakes will begin to end as well.

it makes me so happy to see the entire world celebrating and feeling just as excited and hopeful as we all are here. i bet that's the quietest the entire world's been in a long time, while he was making that miraculous speech. i bet most cell phones didn't ring and most crimes ceased. i don't think there was a dry eye in the social hall in my uni, where we were all watching.

YES WE DID.

help is just around the corner for us.

(and HI TRACY!! :cheesy:)

One man stopped the world.

One man is about to change it.

Pres. Obama will not solve all our problems.

He will not fix the economy. He will not end the war. He will not brings troops home from Iraq. He will not improve education, lower taxes, change Washington, and most of all, he will not bring hope to the world.

Barack Obama will not do these things. We...will do these things. Together.

Ah yes I know that, what I meant was that if it weren't for Barack none of that would be possible anyways. I can't see you guys doing that under McCain or Bush, or even Hillary. His leadership and potential, his inspiration changed and is going to change the nation. Yes you will all do it, but ultimately Barack got you there. Like any great person would.

extremely well said. :nice:

and if one man can bring us all together to work for it ..its definitely him.

he's like the thread that'll sew up the rips and tears in America. i'm not expecting miracles, but we can already see that we can absolutely expect change.

I agree, and my post actually wasn't in response to yours, I was just stating how I felt separately.:)

I just wonder how much more he could do if he didn't have to spend 90% of his time and energy fixing the economy.

I mean, imagine how much of what he said he could actually accomplish if the economy was fine. It's sad, we'll never get to know what could have been.

But for now let's just hope he does fix the economy.

YAY!!!!! YAY!!!!! YAY!!!!:):):)

Hooray for Barack Obama!!!

Chuck, I've been waiting all day to see what amazing, multi-colored speech you would have for this moment, and that's all you have to say?

I am disappointed, Chuckie:(

@2732 :

Listen, I'm just elated. Simply put, speechless. No words are necessary, and adding anything to what has already been said would simply be defiling great art.:P

And so where's your "I have a dream" speech, mr. numerical combination? Hmm..?
