A Coldplay song that truely means someting to you...

Featured Replies

Allthough I love all their songs, there are a very few Coldplay songs that actually mean something personal to me. Most of them were because of memories I have and that song was there to help me, or comfort me, or anything else it needed do for me. Feel free to share those songs that mean something to you...

For me, the songs are Gravity, Everything's Not Lost, and Warning Sign.

All for different reasons, but they all fit my experiences perfectly.

Swallowed in the Sea -- My ex used to sing it to me and everytime I hear it now I cant help but cry

also FIX YOU.. he sent that for me after we broke up with a note which said....I used to be that person in the song the one who was there through the good and bad but I messed up and I'm so sorry..................

so listening to those two songs do hurt a lot but along with VIva La Vida they are my 3 top coldplay songs and that's the Hardest part

There are so many songs to choose from but I would go with The Scientist, Fix You, Warning Sign, Swallowed in the Sea, 'Til Kingdom Comes and Viva La Vida.

Yeah, we do. What's your reasoning for Viva La Vida? Sorry, but I don't know your name.

I have many reasons for Viva La Vida....1) it's just a song that gets me going, 2) I have a BA in History and I love the historical and religious elements in the song (I'm not saying that is what the song is about but the lyrics have those elements or images), and 3) it actually makes me think about my life.

Seems that we have lots more in common I have advanced History at A level and CXC with distinction but for my BA I studied Law... I'm also a History teacher and as you see the song also reminds me of my life....

Tracy..........My name is Nadia by the way

and I love Viva la Vida because for me its a journey through life and its very humbling and it teaches you to be very realistic and to enjoy life as it comes because one day you can have it all and in the next moment it could be gone and when you wanna be "King" and up there on top sometimes it gets very lonely and you forget to enjoy the small things in life that we so often takes for granted................

I went through a lot of stuff last year to loosing my boyfriend of 13 years to almost dying and this song just uplifts me and gives me a lot of answers that I think I knew but just needed to be reminded

^^^Yeah, that is why I said it makes me think about my life. I've had so many ups and downs and every other little detail. I just wish my brother and sister would really listen to the song because I think it would knock some sense into them.

But you pay me no attention, do you?

I know you don't listen to me

'Cos you say you see straight through me, don't you?

SO meaningful to me

the first two are tearjerkers. very sad yet very beautiful

the third just means a lot to me

also dont panic and shiver

Warning Sign, Swallowed in the Sea, A Message, Fix You, Amsterdam and Everything's Not Lost---Too long to discuss the personal meaning behind all of them, but all these songs always manage to give me goosebumps and make my heartache (cheesy, i know hehe).

The lyrics remind me of how I spent two years pining over my best friend, whom I loved but didn't love me back and just thought of me as a friend. I actually listened to a lot of Amsterdam those days, which is weird now because I wasn't even really a Coldplay fan back then. I just had a few random tracks on my computer. Shiver, too, though, and now I see why, because the lyrics describe word for word how I felt at the time.

I'm pretty much over it now, but it took a long time.

This.

So you know how much I need you

But you never even see me, do you?

And is this my final chance of getting you

And on and on

From the moment I wake, to the moment I sleep

I'll be there by your side; just you try and stop me

I'll be waiting in line, just to see if you care

No, I didn't stalk the guy. ;) But I was always there for him, all the time, just hoping one day he'd change his mind and say he wanted to be more than friends after all. A lesson for all you young ones--you can't make someone love you! Don't wait around forever for someone who doesn't return your feelings! :\

aw :(

that is a beautiful story. very sad too.

Everything's Not Lost, I owe that song so much it's unbelievable! Hence my username ;)

Also Amsterdam, The Scientist, Lovers in Japan, and Viva la Vida.

Clocks, The Scientist, Fix You, Glass of Water, Cemetaries of London, Trouble...These songs make me stop what I'm doing and take deep breaths...just something about them that touches my soul.

As the signature indicates, I take Prospekt's March pretty personally. And I'm sure the majority of fans find some special way to connect with Fix You.

oh wow yah. prospekt's march for sure!

Yellow--Just a sweet song overall.

Everything's Not Lost-- So come on yeah, oh oh yeah, sing out yeah and everything's not lost..need I say more?

Clocks-- The piano is just incredible

The Scientist--My favorite song of all time.

In My Place-- When I feel down this song is good...but either way its great.

Talk- I have just always felt a connection to this song.

Speed of Sound-- Makes me think of all the things in life that you wonder about

'Til Kingdom Come-- I think of my mom when I hear this song

Swallowed in the Sea--Just love the words

Fix You-- I love the slow start, the guitar riff and the end especially when its live and everyone sings the end. It's like we all feel the same thing at that specific moment.

Viva la Vida-- This is my anthem

Lovers In Japan---Gives me hope that one day everything will be okay

Lost! & Lost?-- Makes me not want to give up

Strawberry Swing--So sweet sounding and just makes me happy

LIT II-- This song has an amazing sound. I just love it.

A Message-- I love that it's an old hymn and how Chris made it into a beautiful song

Postcards From Far Away---Makes me feel like I'm in a dream

A Message and Shiver.

I don't want to go into detail. Just listen to the lyrics.

EDIT: Oh, and Speed of Sound. It was the song that introduced me to Coldplay at a time where literally everything in my life was awesome. Listening to it brings back great memories.
