I know we're probably all better off if we let this thread die but...

Noonsun...I can debunk your argument in six words. Bobby Jindal is a Rhodes scholar.

So was Bill Clinton, and I doubt you're too fond of him. Do you know how idiotic you come off by reasoning that because this guy Jindal was a Rhodes Scholar, everything he says is therefore correct? Amazing how people with that brand of logic feel fit to debate politics. There are people on every political and religious extreme that are incredibly bright and well educated.

Way to stay on topic. stupid san fran people.

Strawberryfields is on topic, did you notice what thread you're posting on?

you always make the best points

He mean the current topic of discussion, not the original topic of discussion. That is not hard to figure out.

I know what he meant, but you shouldn't insult someone for making a simple reply to a comment on the original subject. Just because he decided to broach an "intellectual" political discussion doesn't mean everyone or anyone has to adhere to that so-called discussion.

He is a troll, of course he is going to be "DOIN' IT WRONG"

You're completing taking that out of context. I was talking about how noonsun thought that Jindal was stupid. If someone gets a Rhodes Scholarship they have to be pretty smart...

I'm not saying Jindal's stupid, just ignorant. There's a huge difference between being smart in school and being smart in your beliefs/common sense/whatever. There are dozens of different kinds of smartness/inteligence/what have you. You can't be a blithering halfwit and get to the point where Bobby Jindal is, but you can still be one of the millions of dumb followers of Christ out there. Not that I have anything against Christians, but if you can look at something that has legions of evidence supporting it like the theory of gravity or the holocaust or evolution and still reject it out of hand for religious beliefs, that's pretty sad.

HAHA

that is a priceless reaction

I still can't get over how awesome your siggy picture is, btw.

What a fucking awesome picture!

Seconded! Thalia (Twisted Mind) rocks!

i'm not personally religious...but saying that every Christian is dumb seems pretty elitist. and just because someone disagrees with you doesn't make them stupid.

No, I'm not saying every Christian is dumb. I'm saying that there are "dumb followers of Christ" ie people who follow people just to follow them. That someone could reject the piles of evidence for evolution actually is pretty stupid in my opinion.

There's things they believe (I'm not saying they are right) that would contradict evolution. They have both scientific and religious reasoning. There technically is no real definitive proof. If he disagrees with it, it's fine with me.

*shrug* It doesn't matter much, it's the way most people are. It just irks me when yet another person rejects science... it's done so much for the world and so many people still pay it no mind.

I'm a Holocaust denyer. Bring it more.

Actually that was a lie.

Would you deny that without any science your life wouldn't be where it is now?

It wasn't the Titanic which suck on that faithful day 98 years ago, it was the Titanic's sister ship which was sunk on purpose for insurance reasons.

Dave, have you paid attention to the conversation we're having?

Yeah, you should. It's actually kind of interesting :D

*Cites sarcasm* Obviously I was being sarcastic.

I'm sorry i can't quote someone and "keep it in context" at the same time. I'm sorry if I misunderstood you, but in the time I've spent at college you'd be uphauled at how ignorant can be about the simplest things after all the year's they've spent there. There's a certain divide I've seen between personal, never-changing, homegrown ideas and the academic knowledge you acquire.
