July 1, 201015 yr Cool :awesome: I don't much like Starlings, but it's bloody fantastic live. Gah, you've got me pining for a new Elbow gig now
August 3, 201015 yr New Elbow soon! Elbow back on home ground for next album Whitefield indie band Elbow have revealed that the green shoots of their new album are beginning to emerge. Singer Guy Garvey has revealed that the band’s next album, the follow-up to that Mercury Music Prize, Brit Award and Ivor Novello Award winning The Seldom Seen Kid, is likely to be released in January or February next year. The band have been recording at Salford’s Blueprint Studios working on their hotly anticipated fifth album. Guy, a former pupil at St Monica’s RC High School in Prestwich, is mulling over the possible album title Sapling Trust, but admitted it’s not to all the band’s taste. "It’s nice to be home," Guy said. "We are still writing and recording at Blueprint until the record’s done. I quite like the name ‘Sapling Trust’ for it." Sadly, there are no plans for any live dates or festival appearances this summer. "There’s no point in doing any more live shows at the moment – there’s no new songs ready," added guitarist Mark Potter. "But I can’t wait to get out touring again. I don’t like the name Sapling Trust much though!" Elbow formed at Stand College, Whitefield, in the 1990s and still retain their original line-up of lead vocalist and lyricist Guy Garvey, guitarist Mark Potter, keyboardist Craig Potter, bassist Pete Turner and drummer Richard Jupp. http://menmedia.co.uk/manchestereveningnews/news/s/1301869_elbow_back_on_home_ground_for_next_album

August 4, 201015 yr :\ hmmm they need a better album title...but woohooo January or February...
August 5, 201015 yr I kinda like it...I love their song names. I know it'll be great...a tentative title probably means it wont work out
August 5, 201015 yr Well, whatever they call it, if it as good as Leaders of the Free World, I'll be happy :D
August 6, 201015 yr For me, they can't beat the sheer power and beauty of the Abbey Road TSSK :) The choir on Starlings, the power of Grounds, the sadness of Friend of Ours, the innocence of Weather To Fly... :') Shame about One Day Like This, dunno why they increased the tempo like that, completely ruined it Sapling Trust eh? I quite like it... though I doubt whether they'll stick with it if Mark doesn't like it.
August 10, 201015 yr I don't listen to TSSK Abbey Road so much. Some Riot and Friends Of Ours are particulary good there, though.
August 11, 201015 yr The Everthere - My Very Best - Great Expectation "punch" is so beautiful :wacky: Great Expectations if one of my fave Elbow songs - probably one of my fave songs of all time as it happens.
