Define "old"

I see their style as ever-changing with each album.

Parachutes: softer, sweeter songs and very simple casual dress and very still on stage

AROBTTH: intense, rougher music, black stage uniforms, live shows more arena-rock feel

X&Y: more movement on stage, spacier songs, more focus on effects live

VLVOD: pop-ier songs with less rock elements, over-the-top stage presence and stage attire

No 2 eras are the same really.

This topic is like the Van Halen debate...which one is better? David or Sammy? LOL!!

Anyhoo, I actually don't have a preference when it comes to Coldplay's music. I agree with the comments that their music is evolving because it is. I just happened to like each sound.

I just got (properly) involved with CP last year but I have to say that I do prefer their older style.

The Viva-Outfits are really cool :)

But they were only cool to promote the album, IMO. :\

Touring with these clothes for over a year now (even if the tour is still called 'VLV') looks kind of ridiculous to me, too much like carnival and dressing up, if you know what I mean ...

I just wish they would go back wearing more casual clothes which look less like boyband dressing up .. :(
