neonhorn22
I like them both. I don't see it as "old" vs. "new." I just see it as their style is evolving......like most bands' style does over the years.

rudy_o
I like the old one, but since I wasn't a fan back then, so I voted for both.

Twizted Logik
Define "old" I see their style as ever-changing with each album. Parachutes: softer, sweeter songs and very simple casual dress and very still on stage AROBTTH: intense, rougher music, black stage uniforms, live shows more arena-rock feel X&Y: more movement on stage, spacier songs, more focus on effects live VLVOD: pop-ier songs with less rock elements, over-the-top stage presence and stage attire No 2 eras are the same really. WV Gal
This topic is like the Van Halen debate...which one is better? David or Sammy? LOL!! Anyhoo, I actually don't have a preference when it comes to Coldplay's music. I agree with the comments that their music is evolving because it is. I just happened to like each sound. RedGirl76
I voted for "like them both" but if I were forced to choose, I'd go with new Coldplay. I like them with a bit of swagger.

Josh42
Saying "I like them both" isn't answering the question. It's asking which you prefer. I like both, but I prefer the old.

ricardo
My favourites albums are AROBTTH by far, and then VLVODAAH; nevertheless I prefer the way they behaved back on the parachutes-arobtth era (on stage, clothes, interviews etc etc).

Gitta Rensolo
Old Coldplay. watch a Clocks performance of 2003, then of 2005 and then 2008. There is nothing more to say. The 2003 performance makes me almost cry and the 2008 just doesn't.
flickahidalgo
Both. Style has to evolve sometime. But, if I had to pick, I would pick old.

LittleMissMessy
I just got (properly) involved with CP last year but I have to say that I do prefer their older style. The Viva-Outfits are really cool :) But they were only cool to promote the album, IMO. :\ Touring with these clothes for over a year now (even if the tour is still called 'VLV') looks kind of ridiculous to me, too much like carnival and dressing up, if you know what I mean ... I just wish they would go back wearing more casual clothes which look less like boyband dressing up .. :(
