Well, I first started being interested in Coldplay during the X&Y era (I was pretty young). Then, I bought Viva La Vida the first day it was released and I was really blown away. Then I saw them in concert, and I fell head over heels in love. And then, after buying the other two albums, I knew that we were meant to be together forever. Now, A Rush of Blood to the Head is my favorite album, but I still love and appreciate all of them.

No, honestly, I don't care about whether someone is a new fan or not..but if they are new and are just discovering Coldplay, congrats to them you know.. and if they want to discover some of their old stuff..I would love to share it with them and tell me what songs they liked and stuff.. and talk about Coldplay and of course Jonny (but try not to get them obsessed with Jonny 'cause he's mine :P ) and I don't think that because you've been in the forum longer or because you've been a fan since the beginning doesn't make you a 'better fan' than the ones that are coming..you just discovered them sooner.. :nice:

Pretty much my story except that I didn't see them in concert until after buying the first two albums. And I also think AROBTTH is the greatest. :D

 

So I was a really casual fan during X&Y, but when VLV came out, I actually made the effort to go back and discover all their previous material. For that brief timeframe, Viva la Vida was my favorite Coldplay song...but then I discovered Politik and others. :D

 

Even then, Viva la Vida easily still ranks in my top 10 songs by Coldplay. And it's not even my favorite from the album. But It'll probably never leave the band's setlist as long as they continue to exist.

 

So basically, I voted for the "I don't care" option. :P

Some people get mad that viva la vida turned a lot of people into coldplayers :smart: :thumbsup:
