September 12, 200916 yr Has this ever happened to you? When I was listening to Yellow I felt like I couldn't stand it anymore, same with 42, Lost+, and Rainy Day. This happened b4 with VLV, but then I took a break from it for three months, now I feel it's power again :) Now I have no feeling listening to my FAVOURITE song Fix You :( What's wrong with me? I can't stop loving Coldplay!!! Nooooo  Did this ever happen to you? That's currently happening to me with A Rush Of Blood To The Head. Last year, I was convinced it was the greatest album of theirs. I listened to it constantly and adored the songs, and now... I just can't stand listening to them. I think it's because I listened to them too much! I'm taking a break from them, and I'm starting to fall in love with Amsterdam again, which I'm glad about. It was my absolute favourite song for ages...
September 12, 200916 yr It's like eating your favourite food every single day. You get too used to it and it starts to lose its magic. Mix it up a bit and then revisit when you're ready.
September 12, 200916 yr This happens to me all the time. I listen to a song so much I get sick of it. It's usually the singles that get a lot of air play that I begin to get bored of.
September 12, 200916 yr It's like eating your favourite food every single day. You get too used to it and it starts to lose its magic. Mix it up a bit and then revisit when you're ready. agreed. it even happened to me when i went to see the VLV tour for the third time. i thought it was really good, of course it was, but somehow there weren't too many special things left about it, since i had seen and heard most of it before. dunno. it's true that you can kill all the magic by getting too much of it. a break usually helps a lot ;)
September 12, 200916 yr take a break, listen to something else for a few weeks and by the time you come back it will feel fresh.
September 12, 200916 yr I've been listening to Coldplay for about 4,5 years now and I haven't really felt that feeling of loosing touch. The last couple of months I've been considering getting a tattoo on my wrist with the date of my first Coldplay concert. But I'm afraid that after the Wembley gigs when the tour comes to an end and we'll have to wait for them for maybe 2 - 3 years again it'll become pretty tough keeping this feeling high. I really don't know.. And now I don't know if I should get the tattoo now either or if I should wait a year or two.
September 12, 200916 yr This has happened to me, too. This happens to everyone, whether or not they want to admit it. I get tired of Coldplay sometimes. When you listen to the same thing over and over again every day, you're bound to want something else sometimes. So I take a little break from Coldplay. Listen to Oasis, Beatles, etc. And then I'm all better and still super in love with the boys. :wacky::P
September 12, 200916 yr It sometimes happens to me for a couple MINUTES, but then it will come back :) My best advice tis to take a REALLY long break, like 2 weeks, and come back to listening to them. It will probably feel refreshing, but if not, :( I don't know what to say.
September 12, 200916 yr Happening to me right now, and it's lasting for more than a month. Right now I can only listen to Parachutes (the album) and enjoy it.
September 12, 200916 yr Its the same with all of my favorite bands and songs. They get a little worn out, once they are good and dusty you blow it off and it reveals a fresh sheen. It's like an old friend you have not seen in ages... Examples of music that has gotten old and come back to me include Frankie Goes To Hollywood, A-ha, Prince....
September 12, 200916 yr Author You guys are right. I am taking a break, for a month. So then I could really feel their music music again. Buts ist gunna be so hard! They take up like 1/4 or my ipod and I hear them on the radio about once every two days..... But I will try! Ill start listening to The Killers, The Beatles, Snow Patrol, Maroon 5 again and many more artists! Thnx everyone! :D
September 12, 200916 yr :nice:this hasn't happened me :DI've been listening to coldplay everyday for a year and 5 months now and my love grows for them everyday,of course some of their b-side songs I dont like:\
September 12, 200916 yr HEY GUYS I JUST FOUND SOMETHING OUT. THERE IS OTHER MUSIC BESIDES COLDPLAY. WWWWHHHHHATTTT? YEAH I WAS SURPRISED TOO.
September 12, 200916 yr Absence makes the heart grow fonder. It happens to me, it happens to most dedicated fans of any band. It happened to me big time 2 years ago, but now I'm listening a little more sparingly - and I love em BIG TIME
