I'm hoping for Jet to come on and play in Kasabian's set a tribute to oasis, like fasterlouder have predicted.

i'm getting the impression that Muse will not do any sideshows for BDO. i cant remember the last time it took this long for the headliner to announce their sideshows. neil young announced his shows before BDO line up was announced and year before RATM announced theirs only days after the first line up announcement. tool and white stripes similarly.

 

reasons for them not doing sideshows. 1. their current stage is very elaborate and since they wont be able to use it at BDO, it would seem a waste to carry it around for just a couple of shows. 2. rod laver arena which would be the most likely venue for melbourne will be used for Aus Open, Sidney Myer music bowl i guess is another option (metallica did that in 04). 3. they have all but promised to be returning later in the year for a proper arena tour.

 

The Horrors have announced some dates, at least according to Triple J they will be doing a sideshow at the Oxford Art Fatory in Sydney

hey dont worry too much. if they dont do sideshows now. it means that we are all but guaranteed more shows later in the year. you should go check out a couple of others bands using the money you would of spent on seeing muse.

How late? Next December? Because they are in the UK at Wembley in September or something like that..

In their article in Jmag they talk about coming out here during their summertime, so sometime in the middle of the year. Apparently the tour finishes in December next year.

It's odd for a band to come here in winter, generally they only come if they are playing at Byron Bay, whatever that festival's called... I forgot..

Yay! I managed to get one of the Sydney ballots so now I'm going to Big Day Out!

Funnily enough, my sister won the Sydney ballot as well.

I'm so excited that I finally get to see Muse.

It would be a shame if they really didn't do a side-show.

i know sydney has 55 000 at each show. and i think melbourne upped their capacity to 55 000 last year. not too sure about the other cities. i know that sounds quite small compared to the european and american festivals but they tried to increase it to 70 000 one year and apparently it was just chaotic.

The tickets seem kinda flimsy.

I used to like normal Ticketek tickets.

yeah i got my tickets from the post office a couple of weeks back. dont really like the design tbh. and yeah they are a little flimsy dont see them surviving if things get messy in the pit during muse.

 

i really cant decide which sideshow to go to! at the moment its most probably Rise Against cos i have a mate who really loves them.

My ticket from Sound Relief was completely destroyed after being exposed to the elements.

Well don't go to Passion Pit, terrible value for money.

 

Rise Against would be something different, although they could be main stage at BDO.

God, I wish they would put the timetables out now.

If you want to keep it and you're bringing a bag like that chuck it in, otherwise if you just put it in a pocket or something you'll lose it a) by having it fall out b) by pit c) by weather
