Jenjie
Coldplay in Rio de Janeiro On Sunday evening we saw Coldplay on apotheosis Stadium, Sambódromo, in Rio. It is the same place as the Carnaval samba parade contest was held, but only a part of it. 30 000 tickets were sold, but it was not completely sold out. Despite this, it was what I could see the full gallery on Pade and floor. Only VIP seats at the front appeared to have room left. The tickets cost 2000 USD, however, so it might not be something everyone wants to pay. It POUR. Genuine concert weather. We purchased the opposite rain cape and it felt like we were on the Festival. The dressing was called Bat For Lashes, and comes from the United Kingdom. They played just over 40 minutes, and got me settled at once. According to me sounds a bit like the Björk, Sigur Rós, and Florence and the Machine, the same experimentuella sound. Lucas said afterwards that "you should come home and google it and download all their songs, I feel everything a little bit" which I obviously would. Good band tips for those who like the other mentioned bands. Coldplay had said that they would go on at 20.00, and was faschionabelt late, ie 20.30. Life in Technicolor began to flow out of the speakers and the four boys came out on stage. Since no one was standing still at just over 90 minutes. Since the tour began with Viva la Vida last year, and still goes in the album's characters, played many songs from that album. But it is always. While favorites such as Yellow, The Scientist (acoustic and with a stream of tears), Politics, Warning Sign, and others came during the evening. During one of the songs butterflies flew out of the smoke machine limits, or the butterfly machine, and the whole sky was full of colorful butterflies for a while. I had heard about this before. Both I and Isabela, Lucas friend, screamed with delight and agreed that this was the prettiest we've seen in a long time. I found then a butterfly on the ground on the way home that I saved. http://hosgester.blogg.se/2010/march/coldplay-i-rio-de-janeiro-1.html
Jenjie
Coldplay does show in Rio in the rain British band Coldplay sang last night for thousands of people in the Apotheosis Square in Rio, in his first concert tour in Brazil "Viva la Vida". It rained throughout the show. The costumes and carnival floats were replaced by the typical decoration of the tour for Coldplay: huge globes suspended in the air and illuminated with inscriptions of "Viva la Vida" and references to Table of Delacroix that graces the cover of the album. The Brazilian public has had defied the rain during the opening act for the British band Bat for Lashes. The Coldplay concert lasted about two hours. The band started the show half an hour later than planned, to wait for the rain to diminish a little and took the stage to the sound of "The Blue Danube" by Johann Strauss, before starting with the first song of the night, "Life in Technicolor. " In his repertoire, songs from the last album like "Viva la Vida" "Lost" and "Death and All of His Friends', issues with which won the Grammy for best album in 2009. The British foursome led by Chris Martin, who has not played in Rio since 2003, also played some of his most memorable themes as "The Scientist", "Fix You", "Clocks" and "Yellow". Martin described the environment of the Apotheosis as "incredible" and put a flag of Brazil on his microphone. During the show many surprises and special effects illustrate the show. First, giant globes of yellow flooded the track while the band played "Yellow" to continue with fireworks in "Fix You". After a brief recess, the band disappeared from the stage and moved to a small platform in the middle of the audience he played several songs on acoustic, including a new song, "Spanish Rain". Thousands of paper butterflies of all colors covered the spectators in front of the stage during "Lovers in Japan", while a new battery of fireworks used to finally put an end to the show, which ended as it began with "Life in Technicolor. The show in Rio de Janeiro is the second of seven that the group held in Latin America and will serve to end the tour. After playing in Buenos Aires on Friday and yesterday in Rio, the band will go to Sao Paulo next Tuesday, Bogota, Mexico City, Guadalajara and Monterrey (Mexico). http://www.portalctv.com/2010/03/01/coldplay-faz-show-no-rio-debaixo-de-chuva/

The presentation was scheduled to start at 20h, but only began around 20:30. Sign that punctuality is not always followed to the letter by the British, but nothing to take away the mood of the audience, even under the drizzle. Composed of many teenagers and middle-aged people, the audience cheered when the lights went out and the quartet of Chris Martin, Guy Berryman, Will Champion and Jonny Buckland appeared on a huge stage. A partir daquele momento, a Passarela do Samba deu lugar a um grande reduto do rock/pop. From that moment, the Sambadrome led to a great bastion of rock / pop. Com um belo efeito de jogos de luzes, o Coldplay iniciou o show com duas músicas de sucesso, Life in Technicolor e Violet Hill , o suficiente para aquecer os fãs. With a beautiful effect of lighting effects, Coldplay set started with two hit songs, and Life in Technicolor Violet Hill, enough to warm the fans. And to feel the positive energy of Rio, Chris decided to ask for help the audience with a "please" in Portuguese, the monitoring of Clocks. De imediato, o coro ecoou no Sambódromo. Immediately, the choir echoed the Sambadrome. He still had time to go to the catwalk next to the public for a quick chat: "Incredible! Is everybody all right? You guys are great!". One fan presented him with the flag of Brazil, which gained ground in the microphone stand of a band. "Muito obrigado por terem vindo apreciar o show". "Thank you for coming to enjoy the show." Still in the early part of the presentation, the English sang Yellow and saw big yellow balloons were released to the air by the public. Whenever one of them flew toward the stage, Chris the burst with the guitar. Part of the public joined the colors of the logo of the tour and tossed balls in red, black and white. In Strawberry Swing, another band's success, the boys improvised a small stage on the catwalk, complete with piano solos. Already in the song that gives name to the tour, Coldplay got the highlight of the show, raising the gang. Who had little time had the shoulders of friends to have a privileged view. Those who expected a closer contact with the musicians could not complain. To everyone's surprise, the quartet came off the stage and walked by a space allocated properly among the crowd. Another nice innovation was Don Quixote, the new song from the band. Back on stage, Chris had an umbrella in Japanese style to protect the "rain" of shredded plastic while singing Lovers in Japan. Also during this song, the audience lit bright objects, such as cell phones, cameras and lighters, which created a visual interest in the rainy night. Death and All His Friends , já em tom de despedida, foi finalizada com mais um "muito obrigado". Death And All His Friends, has a tone of dismissal, ended with one more "thank you". Alguns admiradores entoavam a melodia de Viva La Vida . Some fans chanted the melody of Viva La Vida. O quarteto deixou o palco, mas a platéia fez questão de esperar pelo tradicional "bis", que teve The Scientist e Life in Technicolor 2 . The quartet left the stage, but the audience was keen to wait for the traditional encore, which was The Scientist and Life in Technicolor 2. "Foi ótimo do início ao fim. O Coldplay está seguindo a cartilha do U2, dos melhores shows. O carinho ea proximidade com o público são incríveis. A banda só tem o nome de frio, o contato dos músicos com a platéia é muito legal, bem intimista, totalmente emocional", vibrou o jornalista Marcos Tadeu Santos, de 30 anos, que é de Belo Horizonte, mas veio ao Rio para ver os ídolos de perto. "It was great from start to finish. The Coldplay are following the guidelines of the U2, the best shows. The affection and closeness with the audience are amazing. The band has only the name of cold, contact the musicians with the audience is really cool and intimate, totally emotional ", cheered the journalist Marcos Tadeu Santos, 30, who is from Belo Horizonte, but came to Rio to see their idols up close. Jenjie
I went to Coldplay's gig last night, i live in Rio de Janeiro and here rarely rains and it's never cold, well last night wasn't a typical Rio de janeiro's evening, it rainned alot, and it was cold and windy.... how can i describe it...humm... like an english summer weather! i felt like i was in glasto, minus the mud and all the amazing bands playing, tonight it was Coldplay's night. Don't get me wrong i'm not complaining, i miss the english weather ( yes i know i'm crazy) so it felt alittle bit like home to me. The concert it self was amazing, i had forgoten how much i love coldplay. Chris Martin's voice, energy, musician skills and lyrics are just too good to be true, actually all the band were sounding like perfection. Moments i know i'm never going to forget, i don't know if it's just with me, but when i go to a concert i'm 100% there, i want to absorb every emotion, every word, every note, and it moves me so much even to tears like last night (i know really embarrassing) but what can i say, i really love music! I read somewhere that people that wacthed them in Argentina were flying to Rio to see them again. i thought it was abit silly to fly all that and i also thought that they maybe too rich to see how much money they are spending .....but still.... after wacthing their gig.... i got to confess...i would do the exact same thing. http://theoceanchild.blogspot.com/2010/03/viva-la-vida.html

Denise
Okay, so when was the last time it was played live that wasn't in Brazil. :dozey: :bigcry: Ok I meant to answer this question the other day and then I forgot :P Last time they played it in a country other than Brazil was at London's Earls Court in December 2005, it has only been played in three cities on the Twisted Logic Tour: Milan, London and Sao Paulo (x3, so 6 times in total), then you need to go back to the AROBTTH tour. Let's hope they won't stop playing it after the LA tour is over
