^ lisa mitchell ftw.

I feel like I'm the only person on earth who likes the Temper Trap.

nah mate. we're all fans here. i think if we (aussie music thread) had to choose the aussie album of 2009 it would be Conditions.

oohh good, :D :D

Everyone I know says all Temper Trap songs sound the samee. :\

Hmm they don;t know what they're on about. The Temper Trap, as all bands do, have a signature sound. But if you listen to the album heaps like we have then you notice the variety. It's a quality release, and a great live album too since I have seen them three times now

You've seen them live?!

Oh how I envy you. :P

It's funny, cause I don't actually listen to my friends, I just tell them off

I don't think I know anyone who doesn't like the Temper Trap!

I've been lucky enough to see them too, twice now. They're A-MAZING :D

Awwwww :cheesy:

I need to start buying jjj mag more often. At the moment all I really get is Q mag, with the occassional NME.

ive only seen them once which is enough for me as i was impressed but not blown away by their debut.

man google ads is creepy. as soon as we start talking about "mags" whats the main ad on the page.......blackoutmag.com

reminds me of a scene from the tom cruise movie Minority Report where he is walking around a shopping centre and all the advertising boards around him are capable of reading his mind so they show ads relating to what he is thinking......:S when i first saw that scene i thought what total BS but now it seems more and more realistic.

^haha! I've never seen that movie, but I have no doubt one day technology will pretty much take over the world.

Hang on, what am I talking about, it already has. We are prime examples of that! :P

Anyway, yes, back to the music... I bought The Holiday's debut Post Paradise the other day... really like it. I've listened to it four times in the last three days, which is a lot for me! :P

If you haven't already, you guys should give them a listen!

I had to renew and they sent me a notice in the mail, so you must be next month. I remember because you started after I did.

I don't like how they have Mark Ronson on the front cover of the Ausmusic Month issue.

Tool have announced sideshows in brisbane and melbourne and not in sydney. this might be common with most of the BDO sideshows as sydney has 2 while the rest have 1.

Yes! I totally agree. This is a great summer album and might be one of my top aussie releases of the year. I've been listening to it for a month now and I like it.

Uh oh, so you're going to have to go to BDO? I thought you wanted to catch their sideshow.

Swap you a Tool sideshow for a Foals one?

Seriously though, that sucks for you :(

yeah i wouldve liked to have seen a sideshow but BDO falls right in the middle of summer school campus sessions so i think i'll be giving everything BDO related a miss. but a few of my good mates are extremely disappointed, i gave them false hope that tool would do sideshows in sydney. so i might need to spend the next few weeks keeping my distance from them........:S

DISCUSS!!!!!

I've only ever listened to five of those albums in full :embarrassed:

So I don't really have any interesting opinions to give, lol.

:awesome:

Edit: Wait, is that your own list or did you get it from somewhere else?

alrighty i have a decision to make. do i renew my subscription with jjj mag for $56.86 or do i re-subscribe for $62.55 and get a free copy of the Like A Version CD/DVD which includes a 21 track compilation of covers and 16 track dvd of the same covers. so basically the cd/dvd is costing me about $6 hmmm

anyways a few posts ago i gave a possible schedule for triple j presents in november. here is the official schedule

Nov 1 Eddy Current

Nov 8 Temper Trap

Nov 15 Bliss n Eso

Nov 22 Parkway Drive

Nov 29 Angus n Julia Stone

i will only be recording Temper Trap and A+J Stone.

Why is Empire of the Sun sooooo high? :wtf:

Yeah I have no problem with the top 3 albums. But the post 2000- releases, WTF? Eddy Current is way too high, and so are Empire of the sun. Powderfinger's Odyssey #5 deserves higher imo.

two of the best aussie post 2000 albums are missing, In Ghost Colours and Cruel Guards.

I'm listening to the Like a Version CD now :P I really like it! Definitely worth paying the $6 if you're going to renew it anyway!

This I agree with.

Got my Two Door sideshow tix this morning. It will be my third time seeing these guys. Excited.

Powderfinger tonight! Get to see their last ever Melbourne show pending a reunion!

^ That's awesome! Jealous. So wish they gave us a sideshow too! I'd really like to see one of their own shows, rather than another festival slot. Same with Foals.
