I recently found out about these guys and I really think they sound good, they only have an EP out now, but everyone has been raving about them. They have a bit of a Surfer feel to them and they remind me of a more indie Beach Boys.

An indie Beach Boys, that's actually a perfect description (especially 1:50-2:10). I love the video it's hilarious.

these guys played their first every gig in april. by august they were known all over the indie music world. some bands toil away for years and years before they get any sort of recognition. these guys got it in a matter of weeks. i think the fact they're from Brooklyn has alot to do with it.

 

nonetheless. absolutely loving these guys. look forward to a LP.

at the moment its nothing more than the Summertime EP, remix EP and their newest single I Felt Stupid came out this week. i've been hearing some rumours of a debut LP next year. but i think they need to mature a bit more before throwing out a full length.

This IS the sound of summer ! I listened to their EP all winter and it really brightened my days ! I can't wait for the album.

At first my favourite song of them was Let's go surfing but now I think it's Submarine.

Usually, I don't listen to new bands I've never heard of. But when I saw the Beach Boys comparison, I decided to listen. I like it, but I don't see that much of a connection to the Beach Boys. Maybe I'll listen to it later to see if I pick up on something.

The Drums did a live session for The Sun, they performed Let's Go Surfing and For Ever And Ever Amen, but more importantly a new (well, at least, I had never heard it before) song called Book Of Stories and did a brilliant cover of Where Did Our Love Go by The Supremes ! :awesome:

They opened for Florence+The Machine two weeks ago in London. they were good but totally high and/or drunk on stage....

i love it how their music on the surface seems so very simplistic and ordinary but when you listen carefully theres something very unique and telling about it. basically everytime i hear about of their songs for the first time i think ahh its just the same old indie crap but then i listen again and realise theres so much more to it. the last band to have that impact on me would have to be vampire weekend.

But Vampire Weekend are indie crap
