i would say the white stripes are ridiculously overrated. i mean, they're not bad, but come on, they're not doing anything new or "saving rock music" or whatever people want to say about them.

 

also: the strokes, joy division jr- oops, i mean interpol, and oasis.

haha, yes, i agree with Tom peed. But i would have thrown Elbow, Radiohead, and Blur in there too!

Avril Lavigne is overated....I mean woah, a try hard punk! So what? Seriously...she just tries too hard not to care. She's not the best live performer either.

erm...bands i think are over rated are Whites Stripes...Nu Metal bands..

The Vines..The Hives (although, the hives singer was really entertaining at V2003)...

Yeah the White Stripes are overrated even though they arent bad. So are Oasis even though they are bad. And the Foo Fighters are talked about way too much for my liking (even though Dave Grohl is 'cool as school' as Martin would say ;) ) And the Vines ... well dont get me started on that 'band' if you could call it that!

 

But Radiohead? Nah they are brilliant!!! :P Just talk to obsessive fans like me ... I neeeeever exaggerate how good they are *cough* *cough* *cough*

well fair enough i'll respect your opinion, but in mine i totally disagree with you because considering how long they have been going, i think they are enourmously under-rated, i mean a majority of people would never even know about swim or yesterday went too soon because they only got big off echo park. i really don't think they've gotten the recognition they deserve here :rolleyes: :/ *rant over* :)

blink 182 are over rated

along with loads of weak punk bands (minus green day :rolleyes: )

I dont know if they even count as a 'band' but since they do play their own instruments.... Maroon flippin 5!! Why are these guys the best thing since Milli Vanilli??? I think they are defo over rated.. and as for Radiohead... come on!! Their last 5 albums!.... they are a band who constantly evolves! They dont have one record out there that sounds alike.. there's no 'radiohead sound'... they are always raising their bar and thats what makes them a great band. Experimental or not... they are great. :cool:

despite what everyone says, i think U2 are waaaaaaaaay overrated, some of their stuff is ok but none of it is mind blowing. and also

stuff that's out like ciara or whatever her name is, i don't even think it can be called music :snore:

That's a good idea. I agree that Radiohead are generally not overrated (although their last album was), but the world already has enough Radiohead fans that are full of hot air. :P

Franz Ferdinand, Modest Mouse, The Killers, Slipknot, Kreator, (new) Mayhem, Arch Enemy, Lacuna Coil, ... and so much more...

Maroon 5.... I used think they are not bad at all, but... I heard the album and all the songs sound the same!!! besides, I saw them in a concert and they are 5, but it sounds like two people!!!!!

 

I really thing they need more preparation, and a good producer, and some talent... :rolleyes:
