Do we know if Jeff Wootton was there? I've heard a few rumors that he'd left the group.

Sorry, I didn't saw your message. Yes, he was there. He twitted some weeks ago that he is still with Beady Eye.

It was alright. He's sounded less like Kermit the Frog for once. But you know Beady Eye instead of Noel Gallagher?

Yeah, it was that sort of night.

Well, Noel refused to do it so they asked Liam.

It was ok. At first I think Liam was nervous and he was out of tune. But then it was fine. Not great, just fine. I know he can't sing anymore like in 1996, it's a shame.

But for me it was weird seeing the words Beady Eye on the drum kit and listening Wonderwall at the same time. I don't know why. With Rock 'n' Roll Star and Morning Glory it was fine for me. I think it was because Noel sang so many times this song. And it was so confused for the people on Twitter. I saw many people writing "Why Oasis is call Beady Eye now?". Or "Why a band called Beady Eye is covering an Oasis song?" :D

It sounded...perfectly alright. Liam's doing better than 2008-2009. It just sounded like the album version no more, no less. I've always thought Wonderwall was kind of boring of a song anyways.

Now the Masterplan...

Yes, this arrangement sounded exactly like the album. I thought it was going to be a new version. :inquisitive: "The former Oasis star will perform a new arrangement of iconic Noel track Wonderwall with bandmates Gem Archer, Andy Bell and Chris Sharrock.

David Arnold, one of the top producers in the world, has been in AIR Studio in north London this week working on a new, epic orchestral arrangement."

Of course i know Beady Eye,why i shouldnt ?!

I think he was just saying that putting Beady Eye instead of Noel was a mistake. But Noel said he didn't want to do it. Something like this would have been epic:

"There's a new record on the way! Back in the studio as of today with producer Dave Sitek. Watch this space for more info..."

Excited!:D

Yes, I saw that too on Twitter. I'm very glad they took someone like Dave Sitek as a producer. I hope he can gives them a more "modern sound".

'The next Beady Eye record could be the greatest Liam's ever made'

Manager has big hopes for the new record

The second album from Liam Gallagher's Beady Eye could be the best record the ex-Oasis man has ever made - or at least that's what his manager thinks.

Scott Rogers, of Quest Management, told Music Week that of all the albums on Quest's roster he is most enthused about the forthcoming Beady Eye album.

That's quite a statement considering Quest's roster also features Arcade Fire and Paul McCartney.

The band began recording the follow-up to 2011's Different Gear, Still Speeding last month with TV On The Radio's Dave Sitek, and are under pressure to deliver a better album than their debut.

"It's probably the most exciting record I've worked on for as long as I can remember," Rogers said.

"Everyone thinks they know exactly what record Beady Eye are going to deliver, but they've completey turned it on its head."

Last month Noel Gallagher remarked that his brother Liam was letting Beady Eye down.

"The thing with Beady Eye is...their singer does them a great disservice," he said in an interview with BBC 6Music. "I think they caught a lot of flak that was quite undeserved really.

"I think they've got a great album in them next time. They need one. They fucking need one, that's for sure."

If Rogers is to be believed, a great album is what the Beady Eye boys will indeed deliver.

"I think Liam Gallagher is making the best album of his entire career," he said.

"That's a big statement because he's made some classic records - usually with his brother's songs. But Beady Eye are very talentedplayers and writers and are technically fantastic."

Dave Sitek apparently jumped at the opportunity to work on the new record.

"I sent him the demos and a link to the studio after being told he'd never leave his LA home. He gets straight back to me to say 'I'm there'," Rogers remembers.

"They's tracked 21 songs in nine days [in London]. Sitek called at 6pm the other night to say, 'I need a brass section. Get me a brass section now'. Everyone in the building was calling to sort it for him, and we did - within two hours it was recorded.

"It was a track that was never going to make the album, but Sitek completely changed the vibe and now it's an amazing song."

"Everyone's going to be shocked when they hear this record."

The second Beady Eye album is expected to arrive sometime in the first half of next year.

With the lack of critical acclaim achieved by Different Gears, Still Speeding coupled with Rogers' comments it'll have a lot to live up to.

I'm excited but I hope this isn't another story like with DGSS. They always said it was the best record since Morning Glory and all that sh*t. I prefere low profile.

Another article with some more information:

New Beady Eye record 'will shock everyone'

The manager of Beady Eye, Quest's Scott Rodger, has told Music Week that Liam Gallagher's new album could be the the best LP that the ex-Oasis man has ever recorded.

Rodger, who also manages the likes of Arcade Fire, Paul McCartney and Noah & the Whale, features in a four-page Big Interview in the new Music Week magazine.

Of all the albums on Quest’s roster, Rodger said he may be most enthused about the second record from Beady Eye – Liam Gallagher’s post-Oasis band, which also features Andy Bell and Gem Archer.

The group started recording the record in London last month with TV On The Radio guitarist and producer Dave Sitek, who has also worked behind the desk on albums from the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Liars, CSS and Foals.

The currently unnamed album, the follow-up to 2011's Different Gear, Still Speeding, is due for release in the first half of 2013.

Explained Rodger: “It’s probably the most exciting record I’ve worked on for as long as I can remember. Everyone thinks they know exactly what record Beady Eye are going to deliver, but they’ve completely turned it on its head.

“I think Liam Gallagher is making the best album of his entire career. That’s a big statement because he’s made some classic records - usually with his brother’s songs. But Beady Eye are very talented players and writers and are technically fantastic.

“Gem Archer is an amazing engineer and producer. Both he and Andy Bell will produce records for other people at some point, I’m sure. They pretty much made the record this year in Gem’s studio in his basement. They were writing all year and did what a lot of bands do: they wrote about nine or 10 songs and then said, ‘We’re ready to go with the album.’

“We encouraged them to keep writing until August or September and lo and behold, they wrote 21 songs – and some of the later songs were the best ones. Then we had to find a producer. We wanted to get someone in who’d take [the album] from a 7/10 to a 9/10.

“I was on a plane to New York for a best friend’s wedding thinking, ‘Who can I call?’. Then I thought of [TV On The Radio producer] Dave Sitek – who I associate with New York and great records. I sent him the demos and a link to the studio after being told he’d never leave his LA home. He gets straight back to me to say, ‘I’m there.’

“Now they’ve tracked 21 songs in nine days [in London]. Sitek called at 6pm the other night to say, ‘I need a brass section. Get me a brass section now.’ Everyone in the [Quest] building was calling to sort it for him, and we did – within two hours it was recorded. It was a track that was never going to make the album, but Sitek completely changed the vibe and now it’s an amazing song.

“They have a couple of songs that are just unbelievable, mind-blowing. Everyone’s going to be shocked when they hear this record. It’s not like anything Liam’s ever recorded before."

Pick up the new Music Week today to read the full interview with Rodger, whose Quest company recently acquired the management contract for The X Factor.
