Brent
Eh. I've never been too fond of Drake. Even though he's breaking genre boundaries with emo hip-hop

Violet
Drake Take Care No. Just discovered Youth Lagoon. Incredible. Check out his debut "the year of hibernation" I have it, but I haven't listened to it yet. I'll have to make a mental note to do that tonight, or at least very soon. admnistramation
Take Care is pretty good, but not as good as I'd hoped. The songs with Chilly Gonzo on them are obviously godly. :dazzled: Didn't The Sea And Cake put out an album this year? They're always worth listening to IMO.
fifi
M83 - hurry up, we're dreaming  Benjamin Francis Leftwich - last smoke before the snowstorm James Vincent McMorrow - Early in the morning Starfucker - Reptilians Foster the people - torches Bombay bicycle club - A different kind of fix .....yep, love them all!! They're always worth listening to IMO. That's what one of my friends said about it. Yeah, I believe I saw something about them as I was browsing NAR the other day. I've never listened to them, so I wouldn't know. (BTW, on a completely unrelated and personal note, I've finally acquired White Hinterland. You should be proud of me.) why :( Sorry, Eddie. I tried. I listened to a couple of songs. I just didn't like them.

Wyrd
Kate Bush - 50 Words For SnowWait, you already heard it? or you say this just because it's Kate Bush? btw, anyone was impressed by her Director's Cut? I know the media was, but I wasn't :bigcry: I wanted to smash my laptop or something when I heard what she had done to my precious "Deeper Understanding" ... autotune voice by vocoder .... seriously Kate ... AUTOTUNE EFFECT??? ~~~ I didn't smash the laptop of course, but just ignored the song and listened to the original :wacky:
The Final Track
Directors Cut was ok, but nothing amazing. The autotune wasn't terrible, just meh. 50 Words has been streamed on NPR and it is GLORIOUS.
The Philosopher
I don't know if someone mentioned an album that was released at the beginning of the year, but if not, I have to: British Sea Power - Valhalla Dancehall Definately one of my favourites of 2011. Violet
^I've always been a fan of hip-hop/r&b Am I the only alt Cper that enjoys hip-hop?!?!?!?! For me, it has to sound a certain way for me to enjoy it. I'm not really sure what the criteria is, but most of it just doesn't really apeal to me. I like The Weeknd, though, if that means anything. On another note, I listened to "Diamond Mine," the King Creosote and Jon Hopkins collab. HOLY CRAP. It's so good. <
admnistramation
Hip-hop is great when it's done well, fuck the ignorant haters that throw out all hip-hop/rap based on a few trash radio songs. And fuck weezy, too.
