Great find.

It's hard to tell really. My guts says it is real, but it could as well be a total fake. And the frustrating part of it is that we'll probably never know. Maybe the Oracle will help us out (even though they'll probably take it off then)

If they take it off, we'll know it's totally real.

I don't think it's real... On one of Prospekt's description of the song, he said it was huge sounding with a lot of brass.... Nothing like that here.

If they take it off, we'll know it's totally real.

Anyway, I never really understood why a band would record an instrumental demo.

Instruments are too plain, I lean towards fake, though it's a nice tune.

Well they don't record an instrumental demo. They just record their songs in layers. So all they do is take out the singing layer and voila, one instrumental coming up

It's...wow, extremely pretty, but to me it has fake written all over it. There's nothing in there that seems uniquely them at all to me, nothing that couldn't be produced by talented copycats. Also, as said above, it doesn't fit the description we have of it. Without a voice, or something that just SCREAMS Jonny/Guy/Will, I don't buy this for a second.

Too banjo-esq to me.

I would also have expected more from this song, but maybe the build-up was more than what the end result really was, and why it didnt ever make it to album.

More specifically, the brass came into the third verse of the song, rather than the entire piece. Seeing as this is only 40 seconds of the song, chances are it could still be in there. For the third verse reference, check the timeline in 2007 for the December 6th Prospekt entry.

Regardless of its authenticity, it is very beautiful. It does sound Coldplay-ish, though.
