He did? Oops

I think he did, when i recall it right.

He was about to sing "And you" and suddenly looked down to the ground to look for his Plekrum.

Then suddenly a Stagemember came and put some on his Microphone stand.

I see that Live and it looked Funny XD

Hurts Like Heaven by Coldplay

Written in graffiti on a bridge in a park
'Do you ever get the feeling that you're missing the mark?'
It's so cold, it's so cold
It's so cold, it's so cold

Written up in marker on a factory sign
'I struggle with the feeling that my life isn't mine'
It's so cold, it's so cold
It's so cold, it's so cold

See the arrow they shot, trying to tear us apart
Fire from my belly and the beat from my heart
Still I won't let go
Still I won't let go

You
Ooohooh

Oh you, use your heart as a weapon
And it hurts like heaven

Streets and cars and a pavement of saints
And at the streets are rising and you'd rather sing
'Don't let them take control
No, we won't let them take control'

Yes, I feel a little bit nervous,
Yes, I feel nervous and I cannot relax,
I'm coming 'round to get us
I'm coming 'round when they don't know the facts

So on concrete canvas and a glow in the dark
Concrete canvas, I will make you my mark
Armed with the spray can soul
I am down with the spray can soul

You
Ooohooh

Oh, you
Ooohooh

Yes, you use your heart as a weapon
And it hurts like heaven

Woho-ooh
Woho-oooh
It's true

When you
Use your heart as a weapon
It hurts like heaven
Hurts like heaven

See the arrow they shot, trying to tear us apart

There is actually no "THAT".

Concrete canvas, I will make you my mark

Sure that it is "MY MARK"

Still I won't let go

Still I won't let go

You

Ooohooh

Still don't know what he says after 'Ooohooh' but he surely says something (watch the Pinkpop's Hurts Like Heaven. He says something in that part too).

Something like 'Cause You Do'

Streets and cars and a pavement of saints

And at the streets are rising and you'd rather sing

Not Sure

The more I listen to that, the mere I think it is "you'd rather the same". I know, it makes no sense but again listen to the Pinkpop's one.

Hope that after Glaston we will get it

'under cover of dark' is what I'm hearing now after reading that, so adding my agreeance!

just been listening to it again, and now I hear

'armed with the/my spray can soul

up and down with the/my spray can soul'

thoughts? kind of makes sense if you think about spraying up and down....?

I was looking for the lyrics and found this thread so I though I'd throw in my video from this Tuesday. It's quite high quality so hopefully the sound (and maybe the images of the graffiti will help).

Also, here is a playlist will all the videos I shot in case you can find more clues in the graffiti. I zoomed in quite a few times.

I think in this performance, he sang "Streets and cars and a surface of saints" not "pavement".

Oh and you can see clearly he sings "I'll be armed with a spray can soul".

at 3:52, I'm so sure that he says:

How come they're out to get us?

How come they're out when they don't know the facts?

I think it makes a lot more sense. anyone else agree?

I completely agree with you. After watching the video, I also hear

" (..) Streets (..) cars and a surface of names.

Now the streets arise and we're riding/writing the same."

Can anyone decipher the rest? Of we get this we pretty much have the whole song.

"On every street and every car and every surface are names,

And now the streets arise and we're writing the same.

'Don't let 'em take control...'"

That's my best guess; HOWEVER, I can almost make out an "n" sound at the end of "same," so the second part could actually be:

"And now the streets arise and we're writing this sayin':

'Don't let 'em take control..."

It fits with the pattern in the first part about statements written on items, so either way I'm convinced that they're singing about writing "Don't let them take control" on something.

haha well what's weird is that i just listened to the Rock Am Ring version and i can definitely hear:

I'm coming out to get us,

I'm coming out when they don't know the facts

i'm 99% sure that in the Rock Am Ring version he definitely didn't say "they're". Also, in the Rock Am Ring version, i also think he said "saints"

My only guess is that since the festival at Rock Am Ring was basically their first time performing it live, he just got it wrong (very unlikely) or they haven't finalised the song for the album so they're still tweaking the lyrics.

it does sound like that, yeah

also, watching this, it seems like Chris is more confident in singing this song than he has been in the past.:P

This. Both HLH and Charlie Brown seem like their lyrics are inconsistent at best, depending on which performance you listen to. I'm fairly positive he says "saints" instead of "names" in the older versions.
