"Hurts Like Heaven" Lyrics

Recommended Posts

If any of you coldplayers have some advice to change this cover in any way, then go ahead. I am such a perfectionist, and I always have some little detail that I think is incorrect and I need to change. If you guys can point some out then I can change it to resemble a studio version.

Hurts Like Heaven

By: mycoldplaynet,

Tweaked by Me (Based on the iTunes Festival Version)

Written in graffiti on a bridge in a park

'Do you ever get the feeling that you're missing the mark?'

It's so cold it's so cold

It's so cold it's so cold

Written up in marker on a factory sign

'I struggle with the feeling that my life isn't mine'

It's so cold it's so cold

It's so cold it's so cold

See the arrow that they shot, trying to tear us apart

Fire from my belly and the beat from my heart

Still I won't let go

Still I won't let go

Youuuuu

Ooooooo

Cause it's you (or true)**

Oh you use your heart as a weapon,

and it hurts like Heaven

Streets and cars and the surface remains,

And at the streets are rising and you'd rather sing,

Don't let em take control,

No we wont let em take control.

Yes, I feel a little bit nervous,

Yes I feel nervous and I cant relax,

I'm coming round to get us

I'm coming round when they don't know the facts,

So on concrete canvas and a glow in the dark,

Concrete canvas, I go making my mark,

Armed with a spraycan (and) soul,

I am down with the spraycan (and) soul.

Youuu

Youuu

Youuu

Oooooo

Yes you,

You use your Heart as a weapon,

And it hurts like Heaven

Woooh

Woooh

Its true,

When you,

Use your Heart as a weapon,

It hurts like Heaven.

See, to me it's hard to not already view this song as the album's theme song. Spray cans, graffiti, catchy poppy beat. I dunno, Paradise must be really good.

Yeah im expecting Paradise to be unreal, but as regards Hurts Like Heaven -

it seems to fit the theme of the album more then any of the new songs we have heard,

and its the song I want to see included when Mylo Xyloto's tracklist is revealed!!

It seems like in the last two shows (Letterman and Toronto) Chris changed the lyrics from "Surface are names" back to the "Pavement are names" that he sang earlier this summer when the festivals started.

i'm guessing that they're the lyrics on the studio version now
