Radiohead

Recommended Posts

The There There vinyl that I got on ebay arrived yesterday. Everything was in perfect condition as described. I think the guy could get a lot more money if he described it better or included pictures of the back; the description on the back cover of the sleeve indicates it is a promotional item and is not for sale, "for the upcoming release Hail to the Thief". Not sure if it went to radio stations or if it was something handed out directly from EMI, but I'm guessing that means there aren't a whole bunch readily available anymore. Plus the Amnesiac was a promotional item too, the back part where you peel it off is basically an advertisement "Radiohead Amnesiac in stores now".

And I think maybe this guy used to work for EMI because he's got another one up, maybe he's just trying to get rid of a bunch of stuff... http://www.ebay.com/itm/Radiohead-THERE-THERE-7-Vinyl-SINGLE-45-sticker-MINT-/150742930803?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2318fa9573

It's a great deal if you can get it for $2.99!

Steve Reich to Perform Piece Inspired By Radiohead

http://blogs.telegraph.co.uk/culture/lucyjones/100060093/steve-reichs-radiohead-composition-will-confirm-their-status-in-the-classical-world/

"So why is this exciting? First, it confirms Radiohead's status as the first great classical rock band. I don't mean sleeveless-vest-wearing-beer-swigging classic rock, I mean a rock band whose writing is so complex, elastic and rich that it is more akin to classical music than pop and rock. Kid A marked a shift away from reliance on the predictable AABA forms and middle-eights of "popular music" and saw the band hurling themselves into something completely new and experimental. Influenced by jazz and classical music, they stepped apart from indie rock and britpop, blowing expectations into space."
