Ugh I hate when threads get closed and I'm posting a reply...

Featured Replies

So I'll post this here, there's no point in sending a PM when is an issue that directly or indirectly involves lots of people here.

As a cping member, I'd like to know what's happening for one mainly reason: I have friends here and I talk to lots of people around the forum and if someone turns out to be "dangerous" I'd like to know it. I exchanged lots of pm's and some emails with kels or whoever who used that account and it's freaking me out to think that she was another person (I can't imagine how that could be for someone who actually thought he had a relationship with this fake person).

Of course there's a chance all of this isn't true, but I'm posting this considering the info we have.

Also if you ban people maybe you should post the reasons because I'm sure you have a reason and it'd make things more clear. I hate all the secrecy around here. It doesn't take longer than 1 minute to write a reply such as "nick was lying" or "his account was hacked", "the police is involved and we can't talk about this anymore" etc.

Because from the mods posts it just looks like you (as a board) just want to get rid of this issue just in case the problem gets bigger.

And another reason to keep discussing this it's simple: it's a good lesson for most of the people here (and basic internet behavior), don't trust people that much because you never know what could happen. We've seen lots of weirdos around. And now that Coldplay is releasing an album and lots of people are already joining to the site, it's important to be careful. (of course a "don't send money to any cper member" response is not enough)

Please don't take this as something personal or aimed to any of you mods/admins. Some of you are people I consider my friends and this is not anything against any of you. I just think the whole issue is important and just closing the threads/banning people is not enough, and all the members here deserve to know what's happening.

I agree with you, but his account was "temp. suspended," not banned. Nick has time on his side so dont worry. Besides I dont want your account banned ether lmao

I haven't said anything that could make me get banned, I just posted the obvious. I just think that considering the info we have, banning Nick was weird. Now, if the reasons they have are good then of course I can't complain, but all the secrecy is annoying.

Actually now that I've taken a temporary flashback; I think the Mods and Ian are afraid that all of those posts might start something and get the site shutdown. Now I agree that the secrecy is annoying, but its for the better. If a fight breaks out, and "xxk something" tells the police that he was posting here they're automatic and lazy response would be to close the site.

I don't think so

well, that could be a perfectly valid reason, but all of this "trust us" posts when we don't know what they're talking about are a bit annoying.

Ok, what's your idea on the situation?

It's like the Gov. lying about Area 51 but netherless we'll just have to wait and see

I just think that considering the info we have, banning Nick was weird.

He is not banned. There is a difference.

Ok, what's your idea on the situation?

Not sure, but your idea sounds a bit far-fetched :\

I know it may seem far fetch, but it's one of the many possibilities. Maybe Ian and the Mods didnt want the issue to the "The Thread of the Year," we'll never know

But if I'm wrong: in my defense, I over think things

Well, change "banned" to "temporary banned". I still don't get it.

If something like that would happen to me and I come here to talk about it, I'd be very upset if I get temporary banned because of that. If he's not using his account then what's the big deal of talking about it? this applies to any other reason really.

It says "Account Disabled", not "Banned".

as much as i thoroughly disliked ( actually i was mightily pissed off :P) being left in limbo too on this site before, today i have a gut feeling that it might be really good to just trust the mods.

whatever turns out of this, i thought it's wise to force nick off here (for his own good), so he puts more effort into getting his ass out of this mess, e.g. call crest's hopeline, etc.

Again. That's not the point :blank:

Did he ask to disable his account? because only in that case that'd make a difference.

I agree he needs to put his efforts in going back home, etc. But I still think closing the threads and disabling people's accounts without posting why is a bit disrespectful :blank: What if he's alone there and doesn't have anyone to talk to except people in here? (that's just an idea of course, I don't even know if all of this is true)

@Carrie: did you read my first post? because all you did was replying to one tiny detail in the second post and get over defensive :blank: this reminds me of another person who only cares about tiny little details such as grammar and ignores all the other points :/

We're working on a full response, it takes more than 2 seconds.

If I hear that "He's not banned it's just temporary" crap again I'll bash my head on this keyboard and post the response, it's just as bad as "The threads not deleted it's just been moved to another place ;) (Which none of you can see)". It's just infuriating to respond with the old cliche and focussing on terminology that "Banned" was written instead of "Temporarily banned".

Besides, you can use either, there's only a difference between "Temporarily banned" and "Permanently banned", the word "banned" applies to both and you know rightly how it's meant so stop wasting time. There isn't a difference because at this moment in time someone is banned, regardless of the length of time, the threads about why they've been punished and what they did to deserve it.

EDIT: "Account disabled"- you know what she means, resorting to proper terminology is just getting petty.

Exactly my thoughts. He still can't post.

It just annoys me how an entire post was ignored and the focus was put into one little word.

.

Let's keep our fingers crossed then!

I think I've read that he's got contact to his friends here via other websites, and I think the mods took this into consideration.

And we're not arguing about Nathan and the eurgh-person. This is is an entirely different level, right? An alledged killer of 6 people, creepy old women on the internet ( :disappointed: ), lies and dodgy-ness and hardcore crimes. And Nick seeming to be a tad passive about it.

Who said it was for the purpose of punishing?

As I said, a complete response that you are all looking for takes more than 2 seconds. You'll get it shortly.

Nick said he's living on the same street as them. For the things i read, they might be dangerous people and he's exposing them. Is it crazy to think that they might try to harm him if he continues going on and on about it? A permanent ban to the psycho who tricked Nick is in order, no question about it but i'm concerned about his safety because he's so close to them.

I'll say no more but please Lore and the rest, trust us on this.

Yes, it's not pure trolling. Apparently someone used this place to contact people and talk to them pretending it was another person :freak:. If this is true, this could happen again and that's why I dont think the threads should be locked/deleted/whatever they'll do and remain silent about it. I know it's not cping's fault if someone falls on this kind of tricks but posting some warnings could be very helpful.

Thanks for posting a proper reply (and not focusing on some stupid discussion about the 100 kinds of ban we have here). But you can't ask people to just trust the mods without any info.

^ That wasn't even the official reply, but I'm glad you liked it.
