At MX we got some news about how much songs would start with the same letter and some possible songnames. We don't have any now while the band seems to be very busy in the studio, would this be the era of mystery?

If the song with a colour in its title is dedicated to a place, here are a few possibilities: Red Sea, Black Sea, Orange County...

It seems he's just posting something he found interesting.

I really hope they keep up the Level of energy that was in MX, but maybe produce a few more songs that amateurs (without fx machines) can recreate, because I always enjoy a song more if I can play it with my friends

Dear Coldplayers, Phil asked me to tell you the band won't be at the studio the next 2-3 months, so no need to go there at the moment. :)

 

 

So LP6 is finished or they are taking a break or they will start recording elsewhere. Or Phil is saying this to discourage people.

I think they're just taking a nice summer break and then maybe start record in the US (I assume), and then come back.

A 2-3 month summer break? I think that's a bit long.

So lets do what us folks on message boards do best and try and overthink the hell out of a very small bit of information. Here are a few possible reasons that they could be gone for the next 2-3 months. Some are more realsitic (boring) some are not (more fun!).

 

01) They really are taking a summer break to spend with family.

02) All the work the past few months has been to write / demo songs and they will return in the fall with a producer to get to work on the recording of the new album. Maybe we get it in the Summer of '14 if they stick with what they have been working on. Maybe over the next 2 months Chris has a vision of a concept album about the first civil war on Jupiter, writes 30 new songs, and they start from scratch this fall. We get the album fall '14.

03) All the work the past few months has been recording the album and they are off to New York mix it and then relax while the artwork, manufacturing, and marketing sides of things are worked out and before "the storm"... they pull a Radiohead / Jay Z and drop a suprise fall album.

04) Looking for a new vibe / sound they do what many bands seeking inspiration have done in the past and leave home for a change of scenery to record. but where... berlin? new york? la?

05) Its all a cover up to prevent more bakery visits... they will be there the whole time!

06) Bono and the rest of the guys in U2 have decided that they want to retire but still want U2 to go on as a band making that big cash. So they have hired Coldplay to pose as them for the next album release and promotion. Coldplay will spend the next three months in make up touring the world and doing interviews as U2. This is why Chris was in New York with Bono last month. He was studying his role like Gwen has told him all great actors do.

I was more suggesting that they take a summer break for like a month, a month and a half, and spend another month, month and a half recording somewhere (most likely in NYC, I suppose).

I really want them to do a suprise album, (mainly because I'm addicted to coldplay and i need a new fix :P) but I would be fine with any of those options, as long as we get something new within the next year and a half.

Let's say they will be back in studio at the end of September, a christmas release is feasible then.

 

Or they have not done anything in the studio yet and are going to have serious write/recording sessions after the summer break, then we can expect an early spring release.

 

Guys, who wants them to release physical CD singles again? or just sell them like they did with the comics/picture disc, if they fans want it, they can buy it.

It's so unlikely it's unbelievable, and I don't know if here in the UK they even manufacture CD singles anymore, but good grief I would buy the heck out of those.

VLVODAAHF was released in the UK on a Thursday. But yes, a Tuesday release is more likely.
