What's with all this "MX era sucked" talk? If you want to say the album itself was disappointing, then I can respect that. But the era was amazing. The artwork and live performances were spectacular. In this sense, they were on top of their game.

I COMPLETELY agree with you, anyone who doesn't like MX seems to just ignore how amazing the live performances were. Don't like the LP? Fine. But you can't deny that the concerts were energetic, and breath-taking, and simply memorable.

And what's most important, is that the guys put their hearts into the whole production, something they will never neglect, or forget, for every performance to come.

Everyone, I do believe we're in safe hands.

This, in a nutshell, is why I love Coldplay.

I did actually started to lose my breath at some point during the concert (this VLV-Charlie Brown combo is amazing but ugh with all the emotions and the concert, it's hard to keep up  ) so I definitely agree that those live performances were breathtaking indeed

I started crying when Will started to sing in Us against the world ah! I was a little disappointed by the album but not by the band, they are still my little heroes :dazzled:

Not to mention Nicky Mingebag

oh of course:lol: forgot about her!

The new album will be some good shit and that's all.

for your sake i hope it doesn't turn out to be horse manure. cause then your prediction of "good shit" wouldn't come true at all

People saying the mx era sucked obviously didn't get a chance to see them live they were amazing live I think the mx tour is what made the mx era so flipping good

All I know is I just want one new song.. one! For christmas.. or sooner :) maybe another christmas song

The MX era was doomed to be dissapointed because we were too spoiled during the Viva era, so the next era is going to be good because our expectations are on MX level, although, mine are.

I can't see MX as a disappointment. Probably not as good as Viva Or A Rush of Blood to the Head but it has its own highlights (The tour, the art as pointed out by other Coldplayers, and the bond of the band members).

Live 2012 is a great example.

MX wasn't bad in my opinion. It had a really nice and refreshing energy to it -- a rejuvenation of sorts. Was it vintage Coldplay? No it wasn't. However, there are examples of bands out there that have evolved their music and completely fall apart and missed the mark. Coldplay has evolved their music, but they've done well with it. Very well. When I listen to MX, it still feels like Coldplay, it doesn't feel like some outlandish attempt to stay fresh.

MX was IMO only disappointing because of the lack of songs, but seeing them playing live and with the energy they do that, it was the best era so far.

THEY SOULD PUT THEIR GRADE OF LIVE PERFORMANCES AND THE ABUNDANCE OF THE SONGS OF VIVA, AROBBH, AND X&Y IN ONE ERA/ALBUM.

Here's a question: Do you think Coldplay has passed their prime, or is their prime still to come?

I'd like to think the band will never reach their prime, because they're already in their prime. And have been for the past thirteen years.

But it feels like a band/artist these days is judged more on album sales and popularity than actual content. They are judged to be 'in their prime' when they have all their latest singles in the top 40. This is not, nor ever will be, Coldplay.

So, in the end, it just comes down to what your definition of 'prime' is. Will it be what the world remembers them for, what the fans remember them for, or what you remember them for?

The MX Tour was pretty awesome. If that isn't their prime yet and there better times coming, boy thats gonna be the best damn thing on this planet.

I have to damit the album wasn't that good but the tour was as good as it gets. They played the songs from the album which i didnt like in such a great way and with so much energy that i really began to listen to them more often.

No please no christmas songs, i hate christmas

amen!

musically, they're past their prime. i don't see them making anything as good as AROBTTH (in fact i'm not sure anyone can). definitely not in the direction they're going

but in terms of live performances their prime is still to come. i know the MX tour was spectacular but compared to the unbelievable U2 360 tour and the stones and pink floyd etc they can still improve. A LOT!

I think you are over-thinking it.

I think you are over-thinking it.

Sorry.:embarrassed: I tend to do that a lot!
