Twisted Logic had some great lyrics, As dis Sqyare One but overall I agree that VLV had better lyrics. For me it's

AROBTTH

Parachutes

VLV

X&Y

MX

I have really good feelings about LP6 though.

Yeah Twisted Logic it's my fav from X&Y  I hope LP6 will be good

I would describe the lyrics of X&Y like very philosophicals, and that's why I love so much that album.

For me the order would be:

AROBTTH

Parachutes

X&Y

Viva La Vida

MX

I hope that LP6 just goes above Viva, with that I would be happy.

X&Y above Viva? :o

For me it is. I am one of those who think that X&Y will be always very underrated for reasons unknown. It was a very special album for me and a friend of mine and we aren't friends anymore, so I will always remember that album. His favorite song on X&Y was A Message. But Viva was very special for us too, it has great songs and was when we went to see them in concert. We could take two LeftRightLeft albums that the merchandise people threw from some boxes in the street. In fact we always played songs of Coldplay in his car. What a beautiful times... I really miss them.

I still don't umderstand why people dislike 'X&Y' so much; it's probably my second favourite album:

1. A Rush of Blood to the Head

2. X&Y

3. Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends

4. Parachutes

5. Mylo Xyloto

I love X&Y. I just think VLV is a more mature and well-rounded album. They're all Amazing records in their own way.:)

For me, Viva was about a 9.5 / 10, with 10 being absolutely flawless

Although if Lost! had been replaced with Glass Of Water / Life In Technicolor II / Prospekt's March, it would have scored that 10

I still don't get X&Y. It's sooooo basic. Waaaay too much of Chris's falsetto. The lyrics are soooooo sappy. Its too long.

uuuuuugggghhhh. I just don't like it at all.

My favorites are

1. Viva La Vida or Death And All His Friends

2. A Rush of Blood To The Head

3. Mylo Xyloto

4. X&Y

5. Parachutes

I just didn't enjoy the Parachutes instrumentals all that much. Trouble and Everything's Not Lost were amazing. And Shiver too! Viva for me was a 10/10

THIS! X1000000000 I love the first three album. AROBTTH is the best of best.

thank god I'm not the only one

MX is more interesting as an album than X&Y will ever be

Am I the only one who think AROBTTH is overrated?

Viva La Vida

Parachutes

X&Y

A Rush Of Blood To The Head

Mylo Xyloto.

X&Y is also connected to very fond memories for me. I remember the first time I heard it in the car and I remember thinking that was just perfect alternative pop music! I still remember the shivers when listening to White Shadows. X&Y had many faults as an album, but the music is high quality through and through! It´s also the album where I first began to realise Coldplay were my #1 fav artist :D

I agree! Viva + Prospekt make a 10 in my book :=)

I feel the same about Parchutes tbh. It´s the one album I never really listen to from beginning to end, just a few tracks. I find AROBTTH incredibly solid, but not my fav album, so here is my little list:

1- Mylo Xyloto

2- Viva + Prospekt

3- X&Y

4- AROBTTH

5- Parachutes

Yes that is also the order of release! Apparently my personal taste agrees with Coldplay creative progression hehe

I think I'm probably the only one who likes the house and hip hop music influences on MX. Actually, since most of the famous prog house and trance producers adore Coldplay-ish music at the moment, I'd really like to see the band expanding even more this new sound.

Nah you´re not the only one :P I do like the hip-hop influences as well, however they must be contained to serve the melodic part of the song in my opinion, so I would probably never like a full-blown hip hop Coldplay song

I agree. I don't want them to totally alienate their sound, but I'm curious to see what they could do contaminating it with said influences.

Well, it's clear that X&Y will always be really loved or really hated depending on who's judging it, just like everything else. At this point and taking into account that some prefer one sound and some prefer other styles, I'm very curious of how LP6 can divide people.

You mean will it exceed the huge divide we saw after the release of MX? hehe I actually have a feeling LP6 will be much less experimental, perhaps more low-key or more of the same vein of Viva/MX. I mean in order to get the controversy of MX, they would have to release a super jazz album or something LOL

No at that level at all. If there was a great division of opinions, it was with MX for sure. I don't know if they will come back to their roots, but at least I hope that they reach the feelings of Viva. If they are not going to improve that, I would prefer your idea of a super jazz album than anything else :D

True. X&Y is too much of the same thing. MX has more variety.

Altough X&Y has Fix You on it (which is my all-time favourite song) it's my least favourite as a whole album. (Don't go angry with me, I still love it so so so much)

My list:

1. AROBTTH ( #1 of course because it has Warning Sign, Green Eyes, Amsterdam, Politik, In My Place, GPASUYF.........)

2. Parachutes (Everything's Not Lost, Spies, Shiver, YELLOW... need to say more?)

3. VLVODAAHF (+ Prospekt) & MX (perfect ones [except the part where Rihanna sings ]

5. X&Y (Fix You, A Message, Square One, Swallowed in the Sea...) :dazzled:

I'm really hoping the possible 'divide' after LP6 has been released will divide the true Coldplay fans from the My-favourite-songs-are-Viva-la-Vida-and-Paradise-fans.

What's with all this jazz talk? That's just silly.

I still think X&Y and MX are much weaker albums than any of the other three. Mostly because I just can't finish them from start to finish any more. The second half of MX is just so weak in my opinion. The first half kicks ass. That's why its my #4 album.

X&Y is just kinda lack luster and monotonous from start to finish, with a couple of decent songs sprinkled throughout. (ie Fix You, X&Y, Low, Twisted Logic, Till Kingdom Come) Fix You is more than decent, don't get me wrong.
