Knowing Coldplay, if they will ever do a double album it will maybe 6 songs on each side, like the double LP of X&Y.

The Viva album is fantastic.

And i think they will go for Rock with LP6.

Maaan, the Viva era was magical...

It really was...That was when I first got into Coldplay and when I think back to it, the Viva era was my favorite by far. It seems that with every song I play from that era, there's not only this fantastic ambiance that the band created, but also a personal memory to go along with it.

I suppose that when you have such a strong emotional connection with the music, that's when you know that it's music at it's best. :bliss:

I would have to agree with you on that ;) so many happy memories of that time

Agreed. Coldplay would have to do something pretty mind-blowingly spectacular to even touch the feeling that the Viva era portrayed :wacky:

Same here. I started getting into them around 2006-2007, so the Viva era was my first era that I experienced and it was awesome. Also, not only was the Viva era when I first saw Coldplay live, but it was my first concert in general. So that will always be a great memory with that era.

Even though I didn't experience Viva, I feel like it was really personal in the way the music sounded and the way that Coldplay did their concerts. It sucks I was on the outside looking in :(

Oh yes, Viva era was terrific. Sophisticated and powerful, colorful and diverse, magical and grand, yet it was very intimate and touching at the same time.

I don't even know which direction they should take to create something as good as that. The MX one clearly didn't evoke such kind of feelings, unfortunately. Perhaps it was a necessary experiment, to discover the land o pop loops, heavy production and controversial collaborations. Let's hope the boys had enough of that :) At least I will. And I also will hope that lyrics will get more subtle, expressive and poetic. No eh-la-la-la and wa-wa-wa anymore, please. And don't overuse oooh-s.

You mean you DON'T want to hear them chant, para-para-paradise anymore? It's not like that song, which was only decent at first, was totally over-saturated on the radio waves and through mainstream music or something....:wink3:

I'm not sure if this was posted already but, there's a rumor going around that LP6 will be called Random Acts.

Finally someone thinks the way I do!!!! I agree! The viva era was incredible. The songs were so beautiful and powerful. Their last album was complete shit.

I don't know. These words seem to fit MX pretty well, too.

Aha! I remember you... :sneaky: Wrote off MX as shit did you? Shame. You missed out on a pretty amazing era.

Yes I heard too that the album will be called random acts look at the Wikipedia page

That has already been deleted. And anyone can edit Wikipedia pages and post whatever nonsense they want, it doesn't have to mean anything.

I totally agree that Viva was better than MX, but that's probably to do with the fact that they HAD TO completely change their approach to creating music at that point. That didn't happen again after Viva, so it was more of the same, just more pop-oriented. I have to say I like MX quite a lot but if I am honest to myself, I think the only thing MX produced that was better was the live show and the visual identity.

with Random Acts I think of Daft Punks Random Access Memories.

I cannot agree with the fact that the MX shows were better, yes it was a show with so much happening at the same time, lasers, glowbands, confetti, balloons, fireworks everything! Viva tour was a kind of 'less is more' tour, yes there were effects to make it a show. But it was soo much more intimate with chris talking to the audience more then the MX tour, changing the setlist more often etc.

I prefer more intimate and less production. And yes, the MX shows were awesome but the Viva shows were more.

Are you serious? Were did you hear that? :o

MX was soooo amazing too! :) Apparently joecortazzo hasn't heard it properly or just that one time.

I cannot say if the MX era concerts were the best because I only was in two of their concerts and there were in the Viva era, back on 2008 and 2009. The first one was really amazing, but the second one was not so good due to technical problems. The sound was terrible.

In which concert was it bad? :/

^ It was in Barcelona, on September 2009. They played in a stadium and just when Violet Hill started it felt like the sound fell down. People were very rude with them and complained a lot. I think that they even were supposed to record a live from that concert, or just a video for one of the songs, with the crowd, but I think that never happened. If so, they didn't use the sound of that concert at all.

Yeah I remember him. He was super excited leading up to the release of MX, and then when it came out, he absolutely hated it and disappeared. ..... until now. He has reemerged.

^ Kind of like me :P

Although I wouldn't say I hate MX. It's more of a 'meh' feeling . . . It is my least favorite album though
