Yeah I specifically asked Chris fresh/ raw tracks to get a kind of progress update. His exact words being "not raw, just new". He was between 2 songs and had just left the bakery for the beehive. I believe Will and Jonny were inside the beehive too. We saw Guy a few mins after Chris but he was with his children so we left him well alone.

There seems to be a lot of activity as present, of which we witnessed a snippet.

As for a real time scale? Who knows...I remember X&Y was near enough re-written not long before initial release.

They certainly know how to keep fans on their toes! :)

If I have learned anything with following coldplays releases over the years, it is that things are always different than expected and to not listen too seriously to what the boys say i.e. releases dates. Saying its not far away could still ned up being summer 2014

We all know they have a well-established recording cycle, which is 3 years long. Very unlikely they will break it. I can see them releasing a LP in winter 2014, bur not earlier.

I've read lot of news about LP6 these days, so I wanted to say what happened when me and a friend of mine met Chris in London during the past MX Art Exhibition! :D

 

Chris told us the new album was going to be a "very quiet album" and that he was "very excited" because he was "writing new songs" (he had just finished composing some songs he really appreciated and was going to Phil to make him listen to them).

I know I'm a bit late (! :P) but... hope it will seriously be a "very quiet album"! (even though MX too started as an acoustic album and then became what we all know!)

I wouldn't believe anything about LP6 being out by the end of this year. At one point didn't they say LP5 was supposed to come out by the end of 2010? I still don't expect it until at least mid-2014 (although we did get Christmas Lights at the end of 2010 so who knows, maybe we will still hear new material this year?)

Maybe well get a Halloween song this time :p

They did back in a interview at the end of February 2010. But here we are in June which is obviously much closer to the end of this year, so it could well be, taking into consideration that they must be close to finishing it or at least have an idea when. Plus Will chipping in adds to the hope.
