LP6

Featured Replies

I think a winter release 2014 would be possible(but I don't think it's very likely because they always release anything new around summer). The average time lapse between the albums is around 27 months (Yes I calculated it because I got nothing better to do:P) And given MX was released 24 October 2011(and the festival dates promoting the album already started in June) , so January 2014 could be a possibility, or at least we could have some news! Suddenly I have the feeling that LP6 isn't that far away anymore. Or maybe I'm just having my hopes up too much:D

I really do hope we see LP6 at the end of the year! That would be awesome! Sudden realisation LP6 may not be too far away.<3

Whoah it would be so cool! :) totaly wasn't expecting it yet, which makes it even more awesome! :awesome: but don't they start with giving theasers? IF LP6 would be released by the end of the year, when would we get our first hint or something? :)

also, I'm not pretty much updated (I blame the exams for it! :P), are they working in the backery and beehive for the moment ? :)

They are in London indeed, a lot of fans have meet them there the last weeks. Will said that LP6 would arrive at the end of THIS year :D So that's a big hint I guess. The only question that remains is, can we trust Will?

I'm pretty sure Will never said LP6 will arrive by the end of this year (unless I've missed some more new info ). What I read was that there might be something by the end of this year. We would have heard something by now if the album was that close.

Yeah guys, Will said maybe something at the end of this year.

He also said they're not quite sure yet.

So I wouldn't go building your hopes up too much :).

I hope that Will is right.

The importance of WILL power. That will get my seal of approval.

Oh, you're so clever. :sneaky:

:D Can Summer just hurry up so we can get some coldplay?

Ok, so lets say that what Will and Chris are saying holds true. Hypothetically, lets say the first single comes out in December. Then LP6 comes out Spring of next year. That would mean it took a full six or seven less months to make LP6 than it did MX.

Would this mean anything for the music? Chris says that the great songs come to him all at once in a matter of ten minutes (ie Clocks, Yellow, Viva la Vida, ETIAW). What if Chris just had more of these types of occasions this time around, thus resulting in a shorter recording time. Would this mean that LP6 will particularly be very good in just the amount of big songs?

If Will's words have any validity, how do you think the smaller recording window would affect the music?

I don't think it really affects the music. I think whether or not they have inspiration, feel creative (etc) affects the length of the recording process. So if they record it quickly honestly i don't think it means that much, for the music.

^

I'm with you on that

Lp6 might be shorter but otherwise I don't think the music will be affected

they had less then 777 days, 111 weeks, 2.2 years or whatever between Parachutes and A Rush Of Blood To The Head. Since the release of Mylo Xyloto there have been 606 days between then and now, since there are rumours started by the band that a end of the year release of LP6 is possible, they are possibly breaking the 3 inbetween tradition which they started after A Rush Of Blood To The Head.

LP6 MIGHT BE RELEASED ON THE 6TH OF DECEMBER THIS YEAR IF THEY REPEAT THE FIRST INBETWEEN.

Techinically MX was recorded in a waaayyyy shorter amount of time. They were going to do an all acoustic album and then decided on a more electronic sound.

Even with the same songs that transformation would have involved a great deal of work, and I'm pretty sure they did it in under a year.

I think the songs could be affected by the shorter period, but not in a bad way necessarily.

I just hope they don't tease us as long as they did last time. They should just be like HOV and go 'Yo, album in like, 2 weeks' BOOM. That would make me happy.

Charlie Brown had been in development for three years prior to the release of MX.

I'd like to think the shorter time means more time creating the music and less time 'producing' it. More arranging songs for a foyr-piece band and less multi-tracking. A mostly 'live from the floor' album that could be delivered live with fewer backing tracks. Daydreaming again, I know, lol.:)

I would very much like this.

Doesn't hurt anyone to daydream. ;)

Whenever it comes out, I hope they go in one of two directions with the music:

1. More artsy and avant-garde, stuff like Famous Old Painters and Lukas, like Viva era but brighter and lighter in sound

2. Stripped down, rockier Violet-Hill-esque stuff, like U2 did with "How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb"

However I reckon it's likely they'll do something acoustic and pastoral. Just hope they don't try and make something even more bombastic than Mylo Xyloto, that straddled the edge but if they try to go any more poppy it just would not work.

Hmm, interesting. There definitely is a trend there.

Own it, sister. Own it!

Yeah there's definitely a trend, I'd actually be more surprised if there isn't a painted background for this one. Perhaps something modern-art-ish.

In terms of the lyrics, they originally said MX was going to partially be about "working for someone you don't like". I reckon that will come up now in LP6 instead- VLV and MX both had themes of revolution involved.
