Jonesey16909
I mean ETIAW and Paradise fair enough cause they are singles for the album, but Major Minus was essentially a b-side to ETIAW, so why is it on the album? I like the song, don't get me wrong, I just don't think it should be on the album. Share your thoughts and opinions please :)
busybeeburns
if it fits it fits. Think 'conceptively', not 'selfishly' :)
Jedi Leo
I am happy it is on the album. I get your point about it being on the EP too, but I would definitely miss it in the album if it were not there. Seeing the track list, it surely looks like it is going to be the album dark song, so it´s part of the palette of colors Coldplay wanted to use for MX
Strawberry Swinger
no,cuz it is amazing and has that edge that rare Coldplay songs do :) so it is different, and I think it will fit well cuz of it :)
rafaelchampion
It's essential that Major Minus is on the album.
Jonesey16909
Fair points, I suppose if it fits then thats fair but I just cant help but feel that because it was on the EP it shouldnt be there :/
Kiame
Don't Panic was on an EP before Parachutes was released. Should that have been left out too?
Jonesey16909
Ah but Don't Panic was on an EP with other regular tracks, it wasnt put on there as a b-side to a single, like Major Minus. See my point?

See my point? Also, the version of 'Don't Panic' on Blue Room EP is different from the album release on Parachutes. The Blue Room EP version is more cryptic....i like the difference. Miha
Nobody said Major Minus was a b-side ;) just part of the Every Teardrop is a Waterfall EP. I can see why anyone would think that, but obviously it fits conceptually into the whole scheme, so all you can now is wait to hear the album in its entire. If you won't like it where it is you just won't.

If you won't like it where it is you just won't. EP tracks are usually considered B-sides.
Mackplay
Critics will love this song. This thread belongs to the MM section
MyFavouriteMemory
It always confused me if Major Minus was just part of the EP or was a B side to ETIAW. Because on the CD single release at least, It has 1. ETIAW 2. Major Minus (No Moving to Mars) So it confused me. Either way, I think if MM fits with the concept album, it should be on MX. Jonesey16909
Like I said, I love the song! and I'm sure it does fit in with the whole theme of the album, which I'm one to defend haha I think that listening to the songs on their own is one thing, then listening to them as a whole is another. But it just dosent make sense to me, why didn't they put another song that didn't make it to the album on the ETIAW ep? As we all know they have plenty of those! Thats the reason I started this thread, cause I wanted to hear other peoples opinions on the matter :)
rudy_o
If they take Major Minus off, they probably need to take a lot of other tracks which are worse than Major Minus, out too. :|
Tryptophan
It shouldn't have been on the ETIAW EP. The EP is a mistake (well it's not as it meant straight cash to EMI) as both MM and MTM are album material.
Samuel_94
Yeah true the only good thing about the EP was Moving To Mars. I wish we hadn't have already heard Major Minus!!
Corkus
The ETIAW release was an EP, not a single. There's a difference. ;) Also, Major Minus sucks. :P

See my point? Nah, you're still wrong fella. The ETIAW release was an EP - it was not a single release. Major Minus was not a b side, it was a track on the EP. So my previous example still works. Karencorpse
I like Major Minus, and it being a song about being watched. Those crockadials are dangerous. :P:o:drummer::mudkip::guitarist::escaping2:

Major Minus was not a b side, it was a track on the EP. So my previous example still works. Well is ETIAW a single? Yes. Whether it was an ep or a single, it dosen't matter Major Minus was still second to ETIAW on that cd. I think your really missing my point here. Jonesey16909
I'm standing by my opinion that a different song should have been on the ep, unless the major minus on the album is a different version to the one we have now, which would make sense.
