Thanks for the reminiscence. "Viva la Vida" changed my life (no lie) so I find the end of this era especially poignant.

The end of Viva era was on the 3rd October. :p

VLV is still my favorite Coldplay album and era. Long live the kings!

For me, the end of the era was when they performed at Rock im Park.

Oh, I dicovered Coldplay in that era.. I'll miss ya' VLV era. :kiss:

It was a great era (the VIVA tour was the 1st time I got to see them in concert), but Im loving MX, so Im excited that we are on to new and exciting things! :)

Goodbye VLV, it's the era when I fel in love with Coldplay and really changed my life. Thank you very much you will alway's be living in my head. *Goes on listening UATW*

The era may be over but the songs still live on and will do forever!

Yeah the wonderful, unbelievable Viva era ended a little bit before June 3rd... but it was time for it to end, the new one is its child! :)

I loved the viva era! This new era doesnt match up to it, with all the graffiti and that but the new songs are ok, but long live Viva!

I love everything about this era. I only started loving Coldplay after listening to Viva La Vida on the radio and serching for it on the internet hours later. Haven't got the chance to buy MX CD yet, so until now, that's my favourite album (not only by the band). And I loved the costumes.

 

But I'm happy with the new one, a lot of things from Viva are back, the clothes are a little bit similar, the sound brings somethings from LIJ, so let's wait and see how this goes.

Still my favourite ever. I love it. I'm even listening to Strawberry Swing live right now. Now on the day of Mylo Xyloto being released that's a bit like playing with an old toy you got from previous a Christmas on Christmas Day.

 

Not a criticism of this MX era, but testament to the Viva era. The best Coldplay era.

So true, I was just listening to 42 when I came across the thread.

I will sorely miss the Viva Era. I loved the clothes, the theme, the album, and the ep. All of it was epic. It's the first era I was able to see them live. I became a fan mid X&Y era. I was 13 or 14 then and didn't start going to concerts until I could drive myself. It was also the era that turned me into a complete fangirl where I used to be a casual fan. I think seeing them live helped with that. So far I'm not liking MX era as much as Viva Era, but I should probably give it more of a chance before I judge. :rolleyes:

Oh... I miss this era. MX is not good at all. Well... it's colourful, crazy etc.

But Viva had the best clothing, famous paintings... great EP... Bell in Viva la Vida. Oh... and silly superhero outfit in Strawberry Swing. Oh... and those lovely puppets!

well according to my dad's first impressions on MX: it sounds yet like VLV plus the previous works.

So long, VLV! You were the album which brought me to Coldplay, and introduced me to your older siblings, X&Y, AROBTTH, and Parachutes. Without you I would not be here. Without you I would not be so extremely obsessed. Your newest sibling, MX, is wonderful, and has learned much from you. Thank you.

I started to like Coldplay a lot more with this era. Wow. Viva was such an amazing era. Seriously :nod:

Viva turned me on to Coldplay, and it's sad to see it go. It was so perfect! But I love the new era and look forward to all future eras! Coldplay never dissapoint!:)
