Favorite Coldplay look/theme Part Deux

Featured Replies

I made a thread a while ago like this. Now here's another one, updated to include the theme for Mylo Xyloto.

I don't know how you guys feel, but I really like the aesthetic for Mylo Xyloto. It's like a modernized version of the VLV theme, which was a pretty cool concept in the first place.

Viva. No contest.

I like the MX look the best. I thought the Viva costumes were cool, but they seemed a little bit contrived. Chris looked ridiculous walking around doing radio interviews and stuff in a period resistance piece.

I think the MX costumes walk the right line between awesome costumes and actually look like proper clothing.

Plus I love high tops and bright colours.

Soo..

 I like the descriptions for the options.

I really like military outfits for some odd, romantic reason, so I guess I'll vote Viva. Although, I can see why people think the boys looked ridiculous.

ETA: Paint and pretty colors for the singles artwork were bonuses too. Really simple stuff, but I like it.

Viva. I don't really have a reason for why. I just liked that better. :wacky:

Viva for sure. The whole theme is amazing.

AROBTTH was the best thing they've ever done. The music, the theme, their looks, everything ;)

The music, I agree. But the concept of Viva was just epic !!

AROBTTH = Less is more.

Parachutes/AROBTTH for me, when they just wore their normal clothes. They had some great t-shirts going on in those days.

I was just...never into the Viva thing at all. It's too put-on for me, I guess, and even during the X&Y era, I was like "do they really have to wear all black? Can't they just wear whatever?" I like that the MX era isn't so "costumey" as the VLV era was to me, but I still am not so into the matchy-matchy and how everything they do in any official capacity requires them to dress in certain clothes

MX because I love those futuristic spray painted clothes.

And those spiderweb and spiral patches are just great (I really want one of those :bigcry:)

^ THAT!

I know viva and MX outfits are very neat, elaborate, colorful and whatever, but it seems to me that they are hiding themselves behind it all.

I agree to an extent, really. Chris said recently that he felt like if they dressed in normal street clothes, no one would come see them and would think they weren't trying hard enough. I think he's conveniently forgetting the first half of their career where they were successful, and about half of the successful bands out there today.

But I like the MX clothes because they're at least just modified CLOTHES, whereas the Viva clothes really just looked like whole elaborate costumes to me.

I think that the viva was awesome but I love all the graffiti and symbols CK

viva , no competition! its art work was the fucking best artwork in recent times!
