I am very curious how the xylobands go unpack because it is not in a stadium but a field.

I was wondering about that too!

 

I'm still not sure for which spot I'm aiming. The staged seemed to be rather high during the European arena tour in May/June, so maybe is a place behind the X-stage better than front-row.. What do you guys think is the best place?

I'm not sure what the best spot will be.. since this is the only open air venue, we can't really compare it with anything. I guess we'll have to wait and see..

Q. Dear Oracle,

I'm looking forward to Coldplay's concert in The Hague, but I wondered why they have chosen to do an outdoor concert in the Netherlands? I saw that most other concerts in Europe are given indoors. And does the fact that the concert is outdoors have any consequence for the Xylobands? They are so awesome!

I don't know where you're looking Anne but all the European dates are (and have been) at outdoor venues - mostly stadiums in fact.

It doesn't effect whether Xylobands are used or not so you will get them at Malieveld too.

Je ontvangt deze e-mail omdat met dit e-mailadres een kaart is gekocht voor het concert van Coldplay op donderdag 6 september op het Malieveld in Den Haag.

 

Via deze weg willen we je informeren over de bereikbaarheid van dit concert.

Het Malieveld ligt in het centrum van Den Haag. Donderdag 6 september is het ook koopavond in het centrum van Den Haag, waardoor reguliere parkeergarages snel vol zullen raken. Ook verwachten we een zware donderdagavondspits in en rondom Den Haag. We raden je daarom aan om met het openbaar vervoer naar Den Haag te komen of gebruik te maken van de speciaal voor het concert ingerichte parkeerplaatsen buiten de stad. Deze parkeerplaatsen staan vanaf de snelweg aangegeven.

 

Er komen 65.000 bezoekers naar het concert van Coldplay, dus kom op tijd om de grootste verkeersdrukte te vermijden.

Op het ticket staat 17.30 uur, maar het Malieveld is donderdag 6 september al open vanaf 15.00 uur en voorzien van uitstekende horeca faciliteiten.

 

Het tijdschema voor donderdag 6 september is als volgt (onder voorbehoud)

Vanaf 15.00 uur terrein open, voldoende horeca faciliteiten

Vanaf 17.30 uur DJ

19.00 – 19.30 uur Marina and the Diamonds

19.45 – 20.30 uur Charli XCX

21.00 uur Coldplay

 

Om verkeersproblemen te voorkomen en zo niets te missen van je favoriete band hebben we een uitgebreid bereikbaarheidsplan opgesteld. Lees hieronder wat onze adviezen zijn en welke keuze we je adviseren.

 

Trein

Het Malieveld is uitstekend te bereiken met de trein en ligt op 5 minuten loopafstand van het NS station Den Haag Centraal. De NS zet een groot aantal extra treinen in na afloop van het concert. Kijk voor details en reisinformatie op http://www.ns.nl.

 

Bus, tram en Randstadrail

De HTM zet extra bussen en trams in op de routes richting het Malieveld. Ook de dienstregeling van de Randstadrail is uitgebreid op 6 september. Kijk op http://www.HTM.net voor meer details. Voor algemene reisinformatie verwijzen we je naar http://www.9292.nl.

 

Auto

Aangezien de parkeergelegenheid in de nabijheid van het Malieveld zeer beperkt is, raden wij je dringend aan de auto thuis te laten. Mocht je toch met de auto willen komen, parkeer dan op de speciale parkeerplaatsen aan de rand van de stad. Vermijd zo de zware avondspits op de wegen richting het centrum en de hoge parkeertarieven. Volg vanaf de snelwegen Utrecht A12, Amsterdam A4 en A44 en vanuit Rotterdam/Delft A4 en A13 de lichtkranten en borden met Parkeren Coldplay. Deze leiden je naar de speciaal ingerichte parkeerplaatsen met een snelle bus- en/of tramverbinding naar het Malieveld.

Parkeren, inclusief de pendelbus of pendeltram naar het Malieveld is € 10 per auto.

 

Verder adviseren wij om je navigatiesysteem niet te gebruiken in en rond Den Haag, maar de lichtkranten en de borden te volgen.

 

Georganiseerd busvervoer

Met een touringcar van TripTicket kun je vanuit een groot aantal opstapplaatsen in Nederland naar het Malieveld reizen. TripTicket biedt: garantie van vervoer, je kunt uitstappen vlakbij de hoofdingang en we rijden pas huiswaarts wanneer het concert volledig is afgelopen.

Je kunt al meereizen vanaf € 20 per persoon.

Fiets

Kom je uit (de buurt van) Den Haag? Het Malieveld is uitstekend per fiets te bereiken. Er zijn voldoende stallingen naast de ingang van het Malieveld.

 

Weersverwachting

Het concert wordt gehouden in de open lucht. Houd de weersvoorspellingen in de gaten en neem zonnebrandcrème of een poncho mee. Paraplu’s zijn i.v.m. het beperkte zicht voor anderen niet toegestaan.

Old news but with some new information added:

 

Extra kaarten Coldplay op Malieveld

 

Voor het concert dat Coldplay op donderdag 6 september geeft op het Malieveld zijn 3.000 extra kaarten te koop.

 

Voor het optreden van de Britse band waren al 65.000 kaarten verkocht. Tijdens de opbouw van het podium deze week bleek dat er meer ruimte was voor publiek.

 

Daarom zijn er nog eens 3.000 kaarten in de verkoop gegaan. Ook die gaan snel, er zijn nu nog maar een paar honderd kaarten te koop.

(65000 tickets were sold so far. When they were building the stage earlier this week they noticed that there was more space for the crowd than they initial thought. They decided to release another 3000 tickets, those tickets are almost sold out.)

Malieveld is a mere 5 minutes away but I have no reason to really be there so I can't :( But I'm sure someone will get a picture before next week :D

 

Can't wait! I think I'm gonna buy a Dutch Flag, write something on it and hang around the X Stage and chuck it on during a song :D

I wish I could. If I hadn't had tickets I could probably vaguely hear it from my room, I can just about make out Centrum from my room window :P

 

What do you think I should do with the flag? Get "Coldplaying.com" written on it and then get coldplayers to sign it at the concert?

 

I still think we should all do something special at the concert. I know we get Xylobands but maybe we should all bring something else with us to show our appreciation? I know! We should all wear MX-related clothes! Opinions?

I think a lot of people will indeed wear MX-ish stuff. However, I'm already bringing a pretty big banner so I don't want to overdo it :lol: But it is a great idea! What type of clothes were you thinking of? Customized shirts? Or just a lot of bright colors?

Not entirely sure, just a lot of colourful stuff really! My school schedule is handy because I "finish" at 11:50 (not counting Sport, try and skip it to get there early!). I'll wear all of my old Xylobands even though they won't work apparently, i'll wear some colourful jeans and my Tour Shirt from December.

 

If we can all think of something similair yet awesome to wear in general, let's do it!

I'll just go for bright colors..already have the yellow earrings :lol: also buying a new tourshirt at the merch stand, so I might slip that on as well! But yes, it's a nice idea! I'm in.. if the other 67 988 people join as well, the boys will need sunglasses when they get on stage.
