Chris Martin's told Xfm their flashing wristbands are the most fun thing Coldplay have ever done in a concert....

Speaking to Gordan Smart on his Xfm show yesterday the frontman revealed the flashing wristbands, which are handed out to fans and all light up in time, have a saucy background.

"There's a guy called Jason who likes Coldplay. He used to make mobile phone vibrating sex toys. Basically he's an inventor. I think he came to Glastonbury this summer and he had an idea while we were playing to make these glowband things. He contacted us and said... 'what do you think?'.. and we said 'it sounds like the best idea ever'... and now we have them for every person who has a ticket."

The frontman also admitted that he reckons Lady Gaga is a better songwriter than him.

"I just admire all of the hats and the dresses and the madness and everything because I know that underneath it all she can beat me at writing choruses," he confessed to Gordon.

Chris Martin met her at a gig in Manchester last month and revealed that he thought she was "very sweet."

"I think what undercuts it all, though, is that she's talented and she writes everything."

Lady Gaga is music for people that don't like music. She is as popular as she is for crazily different, which ironically, is now the norm. Her songs are good, but they are no way on God's earth any better than Chris's.

Rant over.

Hey! Look what Phil just tweeted:

@coldplay

Coldplay

If you liked the flashing glowbands at the shows or on X Factor, tell Jason Regler @Jayreg1969. He made them.. he's a bloody genius PH

:D

edit: I'm tempted to tweet them: so he's the famous sex toy inventor we should all thank very much ?!

They're called 'xylobands'? :|

Ah I don't care :dazzled:

I do appreciate a nice glowing sex toy.

Sex toys and Gagas... Chris u so random. :D

Her songs are good, but they are no way on God's earth any better than Chris's.

Totally agree.

brilliant idea really

Gaga is very talented, yet I don't like her music. I thought her attempt to play Viva La Vida was great, although riddled with many errors. But you certainly could see her musicianship. That said, I still wouldn't buy her music. :-(

Stop saying bullshit about yourself and praising others, Chris!

Then again, that wouldn't be our Chris, would it?

I don't really like her songs, but IMHO she's one of the hands down best pure singers to emerge from the current generation.

Wow, that's a great exemple of a highly sensationalised headline.
