Featured Replies

When i was little first grade i heard Trouble. and i was struck by his voice thought it was something different. then in 2006 i heard talk and i knew this band and was again amazed by the lyrical content. then in 2009 i heard Viva La Vida. But i still wasnt listening to them a lot. in 2010 i was listening to them a lot more but i want a fan. not untill last year in the summer i decided to download all their Releases and i feel in love with the band since then. They touch my heart so much and i cant explain my feeling and my brain is in an other world every second feels like 5 and i catch my self staring at nothing but i can see everything its amazing. thats coldplay

Well, I did know Coldplay, but I wasn't a fan, I guess because I was too young. And then, in 2008 (I was 13), I watched the Coldplay Top Ten at MTV before the VLV release and it made CLICK. I had already heard most of the songs of the Top Ten and I thought wow that's amazing. And since then, I became a huge fan and they never left my mind. I watched their videos on YouTube and bought every material of them. I'm so grateful that I "discovered" them like that by chance, cause now my life's changed, and there my ultimate favourite band in the world !!! :D

During Yellow, I became a fan of the song. I didn't know Coldplay, I just know the song.. Then the next time I heard them was Fix You then researched a little more about them and found out about the Scientist. I looked forward to Viva La Vida but I didn't like it that much (but it grew on me) but then I absolutely loved them now since I have listened to all of their songs. Basically I'm a new big fan :D

the same way I loved my favorite band

Foot Of The Mountain is another landmark in the 25-year recording career of a-ha. “We’ve had a very strong response to all our albums in the later years since 2000,” Morten says. In particular, the group’s rock-oriented 2006 album Analogue – their debut for Universal Music – was highly acclaimed in the UK press and led to Q magazine bestowing its Inspiration Award to a-ha. “That was a great feeling,” says Paul. “To have such good response in the country where it all started for us, and to hear kind words coming from critics and colleagues, really gave us a boost.” In addition, a-ha have been named as a key influence by rock superstars Coldplay, whose bassist Guy Berryman is currently working on a new project with Magne. “Coldplay have played an active part in a causing a reappraisal of the band,” Magne says. “Chris Martin is one of a generation of musicians who grew up loving a-ha, not for the image, but for the music.” “The value of the respect is the same no matter where it comes from,” says Morten, “because it means you’re communicating with somebody out there. In this case it was a teenager called Chris Martin. He was reaching out for music and a-ha became part of his story.”

When i was 15, i heard Yellow for the first time and i fell in love with everything about that song, the lyrics, his voice, the music, the video, it just fit into that stage of my life perfectly, it's been my favourite song ever since and after i bought Parachutes, they became my favourite band, that was 11 years ago :)

The seed of my fandom was planted when I was in grade 2, and I heard Clocks on the radio. I absolutely loved it, but I didn't know what it was called or who it was by (since I was a little kid). Fast forward to grade 8, my parents got me an ipod Nano for a grad present. By then I figured out what that song was that I had loved, and I figured, I like one song by this "Coldplay", why not add some more? So I listened to more of their work (mostly VLV), and I was hooked. They had something I couldn't find in any other music. 3 years later, and I'm still hooked :D

After VLV was played 1000000 x on the radio, i finally realized that it was a pretty good song. Aftter that it was love...

I was like 12 and Yellow was playing all the time. So I checked them out, fell in LOVE. And now, here I am, about 11 years later. They were the first band I ever loved, really.

And even though I don't really love MX, it has some great moments, and they still have the spark (no CB pun intended). So, yay! Faith!

It was when Violet Hill was released. Man, how I loved (and still do) that song. Of course I knew the hits, but wasn't a fan at the time. Started listening to the previous albums and quite immediately fell in love. I think I was about 18 at the time, so yeah, I was really late :P

I found Coldplay through the TV series Lost. I was one of those crazy Lost fans and often would watch a youtube video called "The Story of Desmond" which used the song "Clocks" . In September of 2008 the video disappeared from youtube, so I went on a little youtube search, and quickly came across "Clocks" by these guys in a band called Coldplay. I listened to another song that was popular - a song called "Viva la Vida", and I liked that too. About a week later I owned 4 Coldplay albums, and began accumulating b sides, ep's, live stuff. I've listened to Coldplay almost every day since then.

I was in elementary when I first heard a song that really got my attention. It wouldn't be but few years later that I got my first iPod. That song was the scientist and I played it non stop for like a month and then I looked intovtheir other music, like the recently released X&Y and found that song speed of sound, which I had always heard my older sister play on her stereo because it was as she said "Coldplay's only good song." Then later on I bought the first cd I had ever owned ever, X&Y, and in turn decided to get that viva la vida album every one was talking about. Two albums in and I was hooked. Then I saw my very first concert on the viva la vida tour and it was the greatest performance I have ever seen. I've seen them a couple times since then, bought the rest of the albums, picked up a few singles, and the rest is history. Great band, definitely up their (imho) with U2, The Beatles, The Nappies, etc.

The End

Wow that was long. :shocked2: lol

Oh god I do love a-ha as well. Most of Analogue is sufuckingperb and Hunting High and Low, and Living A Boys Adventures Tale are two of the greatest songs ever written.

If you haven't checked them out or have just heard Take On Me, CHECK THEM OUT!

Was on the net doing my homework when my friend sent me a video. :P

I'd seen the video for Yellow when it came out and liked it, but it wasn't until I heard Trouble in the season two finale of Roswell (which was a show my teenage self was obsessed with back in 1999), that I really got into them. And the rest is history. They were the first band that I truly fell in love with.

I grew up listening to Speed of Sound. Then in 2008, I saw the iTUnes commercial and fell in love with Viva. Then in May I started looking up the B-sides. Watched the festivals, and became a superfan!!! :D

I remember my mom playing Fix You over and over and over for months back when it first came out...I remember sometimes sitting outside her door so I could listen to it.. Then fast forward 3 years, I heard Viva La Vida somewhere and yeah, I needed to know more about this band.

If it weren't for coldplay, I wouldn't know and love all the music I do now, and I'd probably still be listening to Avril Lavigne :P

When my oldest brother started listening to Coldplay in 2002, I started listening to Coldplay.

This was the first time when I noticed Coldplay. I know it was weird. (James is great! XOXO

I tried to listen to Coldplay before, but I only liked a few songs. I couldn't feel the lyrics.

BUT LAST SUMMER, everything has changed since I watched Coldplay's concert through the Internet. YEAH, I HAVE FALLEN IN LOVE WITH THEM AND THEIR SONGS.

Live performance is so perfect. And I start knowing Coldplay more and more.

For me, Coldplay and James Morrison take the same place. Both of them are important.

I'm glad that I have the pleasure of loving Coldplay. :dazzled:

After I watched the UK version of Trouble's video back in 2000. I loved them right away.

A few years ago I've read a blog of a good friend of mine:

"Come up to meet you, tell you I'm sorry

You don't know how lovely you are

Nobody said it was easy"

I've searched these lyrics with Google and I began to hear "The Scientist" every day.

I ordered all albums and I'm still fascinated by this band.

They write so emotional and profound lyrics. :-)

I love them!

It seems their live performances are a real turning factor for some. The Brit Awards performances of Clocks in 2003 gobsmacked me. Being subjected to a lot of mainstream music as a child they were so different. They weren't trying to be 'American' (don't mean that in a bad sense it's just sp many popular British acts pretended they were American), they weren't lip synching like the rest of the trash on the Brits and they were playing their own instruments! I look back and still think 'THAT is the way to do it'. They have always been mainstream have Coldplay but they've always had that uniqueness and quality other mainstream acts don't come near. And they've been rewarded for that. Unlike other big bands out there such as those fads Kings Of Leon you do get a real rewarding and pleasant experience from listening to them. Even Muse who despite having respect for, their scale just seems a bit forced and U2 Zoo Tv era lite at best. Coldplay though are just natural. I listen to Coldplay in the same way I would want to watch a Spielberg blockbuster. To just be served grandness on a pure quality scale. U2 are the only other band who have done that.

2005 - Speed of Sound

Back then, I was 15 years old.

In general it was a time when I started to explore my own taste of music. My Friends were listening to Hip Pop, Rap and all that stuff. Yeah and I was on search for new good music :D

I still remember the moment when I was watching in TV the Musicvideo of Speed of Sound and said to myself "Wow, I like this song, those sounds are beautiful, I need to write down the name of the band". And I did that, from this moment on Coldplay was big part of my life. Theor songs are getting better with time, strange thing :D

In about 2005 I heard Clocks on the radio and I liked it, several years later I heard Viva and I loved it. I didn't get a chance to download it or anything because we lived in the middle of nowhere. Then we moved & I finally got Viva, then Clocks, then Lost!, then Talk etc.
