Latest big band of the world

Featured Replies

Do you think band like Muse, Coldplay, Green day or U2 are the latest big band in the world who are able to sold out arena and stadium.

Now famous band don't have a long life time and they're really bad (like LMFA).

I ask me too if artist will continu to use real instrument.

U2

latest big band

oh lordy

In order

50s Elvis

60s The Beatles

70s Led Zeppelin

80s U2

90s Oasis

2000s Coldplay

2010s ....?

Will Coldplay hold onto the title? Stay tuned to next decade.

Many will argue that U2 has been number 1 since the 80s, but while they are still one of the best bands out there, I think there title was taken. Still....That doesn't mean they can't get it back....

I'm so confused

I don't really agree with the statement about Coldplay being the biggest band in the 2000s. :|

Me neither. In fact, I strongly disagree. :uhoh:

Yeah. Considering that Coldplay only started being 'big' in the late 2000s, I don't think 'the biggest band in the 2000s' suits them well. I personally think they weren't too big during X&Y era, it was VLV who made them to be so huge.

They did when a couple of grammy's with AROBTTH, but it definitely feels like they were building up their fame during most of the decade.

I think that now it's really hard to find the biggest band, which has a dominat influence on world's music.

IMO Pink Floyd>Led.

and Oasis never reached the USA, so I guess U2 was the biggest of the 90's too...

there's no such thing as 'the biggest band in the world' and there never has been. get ovverr itttttt

Okay.

Me did research:

50s- Elvis Presley (http://digitaldreamdoor.com/pages/best_artists50s.html)

60s- The Beatles (http://music.toptenreviews.com/bands/list-1960s-bands.htm)

70s- Stevie Wonder (http://digitaldreamdoor.com/pages/best_artists70s.html)

80s- Micheal Jackson (http://www.digitaldreamdoor.com/pages/best_artists80pop.html)

90s- Nirvana (http://rb101182.hubpages.com/hub/Top-100-Songs-of-the-90s)

00s- Beyonce :P (Coldplay got 18th: http://www.gossipcop.com/vh1-100-greatest-songs-2000s-full-list-complete-rankings/)

10s (so far)- Fleet Foxes (http://www.besteveralbums.com/yearstats.php)

Some are songs, some are albums, and some are artists/bands. It was the best I could do.

That looks about right (except for Beyonce ) I think its a bit too early to be judging the biggest band of the 10s IMO.

^That was the #1 song in the 2000s *shudder*. And yeah, I just took to top album from 2011.

IMO Pink Floyd>Led.

Good point about Oasis. U2 did manage to keep appealing to the U.S. Oasis was big in the UK but you're right, in the states there not very big at all.

As for Pink Floyd, it was very close. Them and Led Zeppelin would definitely be the top 2 in my opinion.

I think that there isnt really "The Biggest Band in the World" I beleive that everyone has their opinion on "The Biggeet Band in the World" They all have had an inpact on the musical indusrty.. At least thats how i see it :P

That looks about right (except for Beyonce )

how is she any different from Stevie Wonder or Michael Jackson??

Stevie Wonder= inspiration

MJ= legend

Beyone= music artist of the 2000s

Stevie Wonder= inspiration

MJ= legend

Beyone= music artist of the 2000s

what the hell does that mean?

Stevie Wonder: Blind but plays piano and sings, therefore inspiration

MJ: Fighting racial criticism, while releasing plenty of hits, still popular today

Beyonce is no less of an 'inspiration'

Walk away, Eddie. Just walk away.
