Band to play two song on show on 3 May

 

Good afternoon. On Thursday, 3 May Coldplay will perform two songs on the results show of American Idol, which airs on Fox in the U.S. at 8/7C. We have 50 pairs of tickets to give away to watch the recording of Coldplay's performance. If you'd like to win a pair, click here to enter our contest, before 9am on Monday, 30 April.

Is it already the final or are they still doing regular live shows? I stopped watching after the first live show. I guess I have a reason to watch again :lol:

Yay! But only 50 pairs? Yikes. American Idol tapings are fun - I've been to a couple. And I am going to the Finale this year, but seeing Coldplay would top that! Crossing my fingers that my contest luck still exists.

Will they pay my flight from Uk as well?

Surely they have to play Charlie Brown, would be good to give it a bit of a boost in the charts!

 

Really hope they don't play Paradise, that's had enough attention! Not sure what from the new album they could promote though. Would rather them not play ETIAW and I don't see how they could play PoC.

I'm guessing Charlie Brown and Viva la Vida. Paradise has has its fair share of promotion.

Coldplay will be playing a set on American Idol's resolute show next week!

 

Yeah, we know. This will actually get people to watch this season of Idol! JK!!

 

Srsly, though we nearly passed out when we read the show's tweet:

 

"Breaking news! @Coldplay will be performing on #idol next Thursday, May 3rd!"

 

AND, as if Coldplay isn't enough, we've heard whispers that Rihanna will be making a guest appearance for a duet with the group!

 

Waaah!!!

 

It IS a possibility! After all, the pop star had a duet with the Brits in their newest single Princess of China.

 

We don't know what's more exciting: next week's episode or tonight's with Katy Perry!

Alright, so I guess they'll play CB and PoC...but I have a feeling they'll play Paradise instead of CB :mean:

If they're performing with Rihanna then I would hope they do the full version. I mean they've already started playing it on the tour, the only difference will be Rihanna will actually be there rather than on the screen.

This!^ while I think that the accoustic version is just okay, it feels rather slow and boring, maybe because it lacks some energy idk. Doing the song with the entire band would make the live version of this song 10x better imo.
