It should hit the top 15 on Sunday's Charts.

Then top 10 the following week after the video drops.

It'll reach #1 for sure. Coldplay are massive at the moment, and Rhianna's tone-deaf fans will by it too

Why do charts matter anymore (honest question)?

Number 11 in UK Itunes charts now, was number 17 earlier on. With the video could be number 1 for sure. Charts don't really matter but if Coldplay tops them, its a different story! :P

Well, for me PoC is their most powerful song (which does not mean best!) since Politik so if getting to number one means they're more likely to play it bring it on :)

They should just release it as a single already, or charlie brown. Paradise has been a single for 9 months, seems like a long time for a single

Updated original post :)

So, single releases tomorrow, video released last night. Who's betting for a top 10 slot next week?

Something interesting I noticed while looking at iTunes earlier: Charlie Brown has shot up to #39 :)

PoC is slipping down slightly, currently perched at #9. but MX is #3 in the iTunes album chart.

Just look at the top 10 in the singles chart and see some of the rubbish which enters high. Time and time again the British record buying public have no taste.

Just realised Coldplay has 3 songs on the UK TOP 100 this week, PoC at 13, Paradise at 60 and Charlie Brown at 73! :awesome:

A top 5 placing this Sunday is certainly possible.

Had a quick look at the iTunes Top 200 Singles earlier, and from what I could see, Coldplay had more tracks in there than any other artist :)

And for what it's worth, I've always had this down as the most likely song from MX to hit #1, in no small part because Rihanna's on it.

I saw this in another forum. Thought it was interesting so I'll post it here.

Got to give credit to "thegreatone" (maybe he posts here)

Yeah, I had a look too. Seeing tracks like Fix You, Viva la Vida, The Scientist (love) and Yellow in the top 200 made me happy.

Also, MX is now at #2 in the iTunes album chart. Only thing stopping it from #1? Gary Barlow and The Commonwealth Band (which is to be expected, being the Queen's Diamond Jubilee this week).

EDIT: Taken at midnight on 7th June, Coldplay songs in UK iTunes top 200 singles:

#9 - Princess of China

#54 - Charlie Brown

#65 - Paradise

#108 - Fix You

#114 - Viva la Vida

#121 - Yellow

#138 - PoC (Radio Edit)

#147 - PoC (Acoustic)

#152 - The Scientist

#199 - Every Teardrop Is a Waterfall [seriously]

Clocks is just off at #202.

Lot of love for Coldplay right now. And yes, I had nothing better to do :p

Fix You and Viva are usually quite high anyway, but to see The Scientist in there is great :) Maybe a load of part-time fans sent to The Emirates and then decided to actually download some Coldplay?

That and also the fact that their albums are discounted on several places + iTunes. The single POC is 50% off too.
