Agreed! The mainstream at the moment is by far the worst it's ever been. It's dominated by pop and house' date=' and not even good pop and house. No rock or alternative either which is sad. Sure there are a couple of good songs popping up occasionally but not much. All the charts is now is dancey meaningless songs.[/quote']

 

Yeah. It's sad really. I look back frequently at as soon as 2012 and 13 and say "Man, the mainstream was actually good back in that day! What could have possibly happened to people's musical tastes that could make this trash music of today popular!" Seriously what happened... :(

I'd choose Ghost Stories over lots of the mainstream pop (oh wait ASFOS is part of that) even if I personally dislike the album.

 

One thing I'd admit is that Coldplay's songs "last" as if they're still good until today, because most of the pop songs today are good for about a month or two (e.g. Uptown Funk, All About That Bass, etc)
