Finally today is the day when I'll get my mixtape  well hopefully!

Also some people mentioned about uploading on sendspace. That site never worked for me and it doesn't work in some asian countries so I'm afraid I won't be able to download via sendspace. Not sure If I'm the only one having issues with that site. Try to upload stuffs on reliable websites like mediafire, rapidshare, depositfiles etc.

But I cannot find any way to hide the track names/artist name if I erase it or put another name on it, it will not be usable.

What should I do?

As someone posted it earlier, it'd be helpful. http://coldplaying.com/forum/showpost.php?p=4883890&postcount=1

I tried using Media Fire but my file in .zip format is 213 MB and the limit with a free account is 200 MB :/ does anyone know another site you can upload to? Otherwise I'm screwed :(

Can't you just delete a couple of tracks to get it <200 MB ? That shouldn't be a big deal. Tbh for slow internet users like me, it can sometimes be frustrating to download a big file via direct downloads due to frequent internet timeouts. that's why mine is just over 100 MB

Thank you so much gentleman.

It depends on which program you use to listen to your songs. Make sure you make a copy of those you want to use in the mixtape. But them in a folder in your computer. Then open the songs in a program like Winamp or Mediaplayer. In there you can adjust the information of a song while the song is still able to play.

For Winamp:

Open the folder to play in winamp or the songs, that doesn't really matter, just see that the songs are in the player. Then you can right-click on a song and a little menu pops up. In there you choose "see details..." when you click that, a window opens with the name of the song and other details. These you can all erase or rename (whatever you like) and then when you click 'save' the song has new information but can still be played.

Beside this you should still delete the name of the song in the folder as well. Be aware that if you change the name of the song in the folder itself, winamp cannot find it anymore, but if you then re-open the song or folder in winamp's playlist, it will be there again and you can play it.

I hope you can do something with this :S

I understand the feeling guy, that was my face when I had to delete a couple of tracks from mine just to get it under 70 mins. No big deal though.

Haha, pretty sure I've never been below 70 minutes.

I won't be revealing the exact duration of my mixtape since I have already given a clue about the file size but yeah it might just be over 70 mins. Freaking rules. I am okay as long as I don't get my partner pissed off at my mixtape. However, my partner looks pretty compatible for my mixtape.

Don't remember ever reading that it MUST be between 50-70 minutes. They're just recommended guidelines. I always made 80 the absolute limit.

alrighty, I have been too careful with the guidelines so may be next time it will be longer as it's just an 'average' length. I will remember adding a pinch of some African music from the next time. :P

Woops…… if that's the case then I've only just heard that for the first time after submitting the tape and it's an hour and a half long. I would delete tracks no problem but then I'd have to have a mental breakdown after cos it'd reck the flow of it haha

Again, that's just the average. It can be 10 minutes or 5 hours if so choose. The only person who might complain is your recipient.

Phew, thought I was going to get told off by someone. Well I hope the person I made it for won't mind, I think it flows pretty well and when I've listened back to it, it feels like it runs through it quickly :)

I've never had anyone complain about the tape being too long, but I have had complaints about it being too short. Personally I think too much is better than too little.

^ I agree. I much prefer longer tapes to shorter ones.

I'll probably have to send my mixtape one hour or two after the deadline, is it a big problem? :\

^^ Not at all. Black Rose said he would send mixtapes on Sunday and I imagine that he's not online 24h :P

You'd only receive your assigned mixtape a bit later as well :nice:

It's also good that you let everyone know that you'd be late and gave reasons for it. That's much better than not sending a tape at all without any explanation (and, unfortunately, we get at least one of those every year).

I just found out that the deadline is in like 3 hours. I will probably be a few minutes late.

I have to recover all the music from my ipod and put it back on my computer, so i can then upload it. And since i am going to mass in a but, that will set me back a bit. Hopefully not, though.

Being on the desktop version of the site feels strange after a week and a bit on the tap-a-tap app

Tapes will probably go out somepoint tomorrow, I'm currently tired (woke yesterday at 7am EST, hardly got any sleep on the overnight flight back to London

I am sorry, my mixtape gonna be late because my bandwith is ultra-slow at the moment.

Uploading it tomorrow as soon as I get up, I promise.

Jet-lag has kicked in, my body thinks it's still 19:08 :(

At least the end of BST shouldn't effect me to much

Hence mixtapes are slowly going out, you get your tape once you have submitted your own.

Am I the only one who's having problems with mediafire?

^ It worked fine for me. What's the problem?

Woooo so excited
