May 12, 201412 yr Who else thinks they should drop this overproducing stuff.....plus Jonny's guitar doesn't sound loud enough ,has little chords or is totally absent.Lemme give you an example true love you can't really tell if its a guitar riff or synth; then bam a loud guitar solo,AA the guitar is muted almost etc please someone enlighten me ,maybe i'm mistaken. The poll pretty much shows what people want from coldplay- its more songs like O;thats for sure,so please don't jump in my neck when i say that coldplay should drop these fancy producers and keep it more simple. ,
May 12, 201412 yr Now isn't the time to criticize. Everyone is enjoying the album right now. This kind of discussion is for later
May 12, 201412 yr Author not pushing it in anyones throat, but that was my second thought after hearing the album
May 12, 201412 yr I think you're right. I could also critize a lot of other things on the album but I think I'm waiting for later.
May 12, 201412 yr Yeah kinda agree but it fits somehow throughout the album. I was actually mad for Another's Arms of not putting more Jonny and Will but it turn out the atmosphere just kills it. Its too deep arghhh!! But yet live version would do the favor if people didn't like the overproduced musics.
May 12, 201412 yr I loved it unconditionally at first listen but now I see. It's Chris Martin's solo album. I hear no William Champion and Jonny Buckland identity throughout the album. Specially Will. It's too much synth drums, that's not his style at all.
May 13, 201412 yr this is the kind of "overproduction" i don't mind. really love the album on the first listen. time will tell if i change my mind.
May 13, 201412 yr Tbh, I don't see overproduction here at all. People are calling this Chris' solo album when all we've heard from the band is that they are more collaborated then ever. So when I hear electric drums and muted guitar, I believe its a band decision not a Chris decision. I think people are slightly overreaching by calling it Chris' solo album.
May 13, 201412 yr They've been "overproduced" since X&Y (and I'm sure some people said the same about AROBTTH), so I guess the answer is yes?
May 13, 201412 yr Specially Will. It's too much synth drums, that's not his style at all. Yea, feels like he arrived late in rehearsals and they had to do his part on synth drums, there's no personal touch Will can add to that. And then Jonny's parts seem like a interfering on the eletronic parts. IDK, I like it still maybe GS is too new age.
May 13, 201412 yr Production aint perfect but it's a trillion times better than MX. I feel like they've learnt their lesson on this one.
May 13, 201412 yr Honestly I don't see the overproduction OR understand the whole "chris martin solo album" thing. We know how the boys create these songs thanks to the bbc interview-- Chris comes to the band with an idea, a skeleton on a song, and then the band layers it up-- each adding their own parts. I am sure that chris did not tell anyone they couldn't play too much on the record, but rather they each decided individually when to tone it down based on the nature of the record. On another note, can we hold off on the criticism right now? I don't even have the disc in my hands and people are already tearing the poor thing to shreds...
May 13, 201412 yr I think this album is more produced than MX, call me crazy. :) Sure MX felt really pieced together, but the synths, the guitar, the drums, the bass all feelreally raw. GS is really tight and sometimes feels drowned out. I think there is a difference between an album being really loud and layered (MX) and an album being really shiny and electric (Ghost Stories) I would reccommend listening to MX again, and then returning to Ghost Stories. I did today and realized that the latter is way more produced and MX just is more explosive and a bit more hazy.
May 13, 201412 yr Author If this album's overproduced then what in Christ's name is MX? also overproduced lol

"I am consciously-uncoupling my wife, I'm bad and dying and feel like ruining my life and people's lives around me. Please let me add that fucking dubstep feeling on True Love like we talked days before, I'm so sad today." Which friend would say no? Even I wouldn't say no.

May 13, 201412 yr I'm waiting for a dubstep remix of ASFOS. That has a lot of potential Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
May 13, 201412 yr Dubstep and Coldplay :| I don't know man  All the dubstep Coldplay remixes I've heard so far were VERY bad  More out of feeling bad for Chris (not because of the dubsteo because I hate it) No but seriously how could you deny chris dubsteo of he came to you in tears asking for it?
May 13, 201412 yr Author this a lot less produced than X&Y lol in X&Y you had Buckland all over the place,Wills drums and cool synth(not saying in ghost stories its not ;cause it is) still kinda lacks something as a whole album
