First Coldplay Song/Album?

Featured Replies

Hi all!

As the title says, what's your first Coldplay song? Mine is "Lovers in Japan" when I heard it in a game, this old game called "Tap Tap" for iPhones. For some reason, I was always intimidated by it and never got to finish the level/song. (Magic backstory is optional)

So what's your first Coldplay song/album?

Hi!  I've also decided to tell my story, because I enjoy reading all your answers! The first songs I can remember are Coldplay songs of AROBTTH (Clocks in particular). My dad plays the guita

For me I think Chris's vocals/voice peaked with AROBTTH and X&Y and got worse since, especially live... I guess we share our non-liking of MX though 😛

Hi! For me, the first Coldplay song I heard was probably "Paradise" and I loved it since then. But I didn't become a Coldplay fan immediately; back then I was more into electronic music (tod

The first song I consciously recognized as Coldplay was Paradise, but the song that got me hooked was Talk

For me, Paradise was the first song in connection of which I heard the name Coldplay, but I've heard Viva La Vida and Talk around that time too, before I knew it was Coldplay.

The first album I listened too, hmmm, I'm not sure since I listened to all of them in a row one day but I have the feeling the very first was Mylo Xyloto.

Oh yeah, first album start to finish for me was MX

For me, it was clocks when I first heard it on the radio.

Really ? That's amazing !! Can you give some details about how you discovered it ?

I saw the video on TV in 2001

I Heard In My Place on the radio when I was very young. Hooked ever since. I asked my Dad what band it was and he said "Coldplay" and went out and bought AROBTTH for me. Still have that CD to this day. It's gone everywhere with me since then and the case looks like it's been through a trash compactor. I never replaced it because it has sentimental value.

I heard Clocks on the radio as a young kid, and I heard Yellow, Viva La Vida, and Paradise on the radio over the next 9 years but despite liking those songs I wasn't too interested. Someone also sang The Scientist at a school talent show but I never knew it was a Coldplay song! The first song that actually made me interested in discovering Coldplay was Speed of Sound. My first Coldplay album was a 7 year-old used copy of X&Y from a record store.

The song that made me jump into the Coldplay fandom was Atlas. But the first album I'm accompanying from start to finish (I hope) is A Head Full Of Dreams, since I didn't follow Ghost Stories closely.

@beastwars that's fantastic!

My first was probably Yellow or The Scientist. I just heard them on the radio alot when I was younger, and hearing those two songs bring back alot of memories for me.

I first heard of Viva la Vida in some random video of a guy recording his infected PC back in 2009 or something... once I heard it I decided it was so beautiful and I needed to look up the song right then. Once I found out it was by Coldplay I like played it on repeat for an hour lol. Then I discovered some of their other songs (just looked them up) and I decided that I had definetely found the band for me.

Cool that it was on TV !

Absolutely! what a coincidence that was...

Viva la Vida in some random video of a guy recording his infected PC back in 2009

Why do I have trouble imagining that particular song fitting this particular situation ?! :D

Well it was just on a virtual PC and using a screen recorder, if he was actually recording that with an actual camera that wouls be so weird and hilarious:lol:

And by the way, he plays two songs in that video. And Viva is the second song. The first song is not Coldplay related so ya:P

Search "My Infected PC" on youtube its the first result. Skip to 6:18 to hear Viva la Vida :D

Now since I watched that video I immediately associate Viva with the XP default background and anything that looks like it:P
