I don't think it's a perfect release to be fair, and that may be why not many people seem to be that interested in it on here. My main issue is the cover art. I think the standard cover art is my favourite of any Coldplay album, but the Notebook Edition cover is just pretty bland. It's part of the reason why I got both the record and CD; to have both covers.

Perhaps they were trying to go for the same thing as the Infinity Station version of MOTS, but what works for one cover design won't work for another. I do like the Infinity Station silver cover but if I ever get a vinyl version of MOTS (Coloratura played on a record must be a vibe) I'll get the standard version for variety. I bought the Epiphany Edition of My Universe for the much better cover art as well...

Going back to Moon Music, the release strategy of the album is weird. I've already given my thoughts on the silly way the singles were released, but the album is just as weird. To announce a third version of the album just as it releases which is only available for a limited time with a whole live EP as bonus content is an odd move, and for it to have a physical release only in the USA is really weird as well. I bet that physical release will shoot up in value on Discogs very soon. I wish that they did an ultimate edition that had the Notebook Edition and Tour Edition combined, because that would be a lot more compelling than several disjointed releases.

More problems. Now that I've received my iTunes refund I bought the Tour Edition... Only for the link to download the MP3 version, not the WAV version that was promised on the store page.

The pain never ends. Coldplay need to ditch Shopify as well as Ticketmaster.

The idiocy of all this has gone from being angering to being kind of funny, like Basil Fawlty is running the whole Coldplay store. Or maybe it's just a sign of madness. 😂

Guys you do know now that GF didn't use The Race at all The Race has a bigger chance of coming back out 

I got my copy today in the post.  It was interesting.

The demos were somewhere in between iPhone voice memo and really rough studio recordings.

I only listened once but my run down is as follows:

Moon Music - pretty much an iPhone recording of Chris playing the piano of the song.  Not much else to it.

 feelslikeimfallinginlove - Rough studio run through with I presume Max?  Chorus melody is slightly different (and better) than the final cut.  Played to a click track if I remember right.

We Pray - Starts off with Chris playing the melody on the guitar and then some whispered version of the lyrics/chorus. Sounds like he was trying to be quiet.

Jupiter - Sounds very much like the album version, though the chorus goes ‘You love who you love’.  I wonder, given it was penned in as the lead song after Moon Music in the notebook scribblings, whether they intended it to be the big pop number that we’ve heard snippets of from the leaks but somewhere along the lines the band decided the demo/first draft was better so they scrapped it and went back to the original feel?

Good Feelings - Played on piano. Interestingly after the chorus, Chris plays JB’s guitar riff on the piano (the riff that has disappeared from the album, sadly).

🌈 - This recording sounds nothing like AHAR but, if I remember rightly, an instrumental rough demo of Spanish Rain!!!

iAAM - Similar to feelslike… good to hear the production team going over ideas together with the band on songwriting.  Chris plays this on a synth.  Sounds cool.

Aeterna - Just some piano chords.

All My Love - Played on a crazy cheap keyboard in either the harpsichord or 12-string guitar setting.  Song sounds pretty much as it does now.

One World - Bit of piano and not much else.

I probably wouldn’t listen to it much again but it definitely gives a cool insight into the songwriting process and works well with the notebook CD as a product.  Would have been awesome if they’d have taken the songs at various stages and blended them together so you started with voice memo, the studio work through, then a bit of an actual studio demo and then finishing with a clip of the final piece.

I never believed it anyway. But if it was true it still wouldn't mean anything anyway. Life is Beautiful's sample was used twice on Music of the Spheres, Speed of Sound is basically Clocks, and Moon Music is startlingly similar to parts of Coloratura.

Also the fan made 'Back To Life' album is lovely, great song choices and some cool transitions whoever made that.

I got it delivered immediately but they sent the wrong version.

The Coldplay Store is a complete joke. If you have a confirmation order you can reply to it to send a support request if it doesn't come through (I'd wait a day or so before doing that). If you paid via PayPal you also have the option of reversing the charge if you don't get anything back from support, but I'd use it as a last resort.

i ordered the vinyl on th 17 of june. yesterday i got shipping confirmation.

what i dont get, they make comercial about the tour edition, but nobody can download it.

now i saw on facebook, people are getting this tour edition for free if you ordered the vinyl long time ago.

its a big joke this shop

The problem isn't that nobody is getting the Tour Edition because there have only been a few reports of it not being sent. I did get sent it, but they sent the MP3 version. This is the version that was given for free for people who had pre-ordered, but the store page stated that the WAV version would be sent. I sent in a support request, but there is no response yet. If there is no response, I do have the right to force a refund through PayPal as the item was not delivered as expected.

It's more than a few, I haven't received it and I have seen complaints on Facebook.  It's very poor service - I found the chat facility on the site to be useless - no-one responded, won't be buying from there again.

I wasn't aware they had a chat facility. Just reply to the confirmation email, or send an email to [email protected].

I have to say I don´t like the idea, and is the worst at the end of One World, which should be by all means the real ending of the album.
